Never again. Wait 30 minutes for order. Wait for food over 1hour. Everything so

The prawns pil pil were tasteless and the rice for the paella was overcooked. Will not be back.

If sitting on a tatty faux-leather banquette, blistering up like a bad pluke, is your idea of quality then this is your place. The food is not any better. Bacalao came in a cold dish quickly making the chorizo and black pudding taste like your chewing fat. The menu reads great and you think you’re in for a treat then, when the food comes, it is so disappointing. Drinks service was forgotten – doesn’t make for exciting times, especially with only four tables in the place! It felt like there was more atmosphere in space. When the waitress ladled Troon’s least exciting Patatas Bravas onto the table and spilled oil over one of the diners first-time-worn blouse, well, this doesn’t lend itself to a good day either, especially when that person is your wife... Kudos to the poor girl, she did make a genuine and heartfelt apology and took details for the manager to contact us which was re-assuring. That there was no call from the manager is, given the day’s experiences, not surprising but entirely expected from an establishment that doesn’t have working locks on the toilet doors. Places like this chase people away to the city instead of highlighting the offerings a small coastal town like Troon can offer. I suppose they’re holding out for the cashflow increase during the Open in 2024, well my advice if you’re one of these visitors is quite simple - look elsewhere. If a restaurant doesn’t care to spend money on the basics such as seating and toilet door locks why would you want to spend your money with them? I can’t think of one reason to go back. Not one.

A very poor experience from Tinto Troon. A very sad decline from a place we called one of our local favourites. To give balance to that statement we were mystery shoppers for Tinto one year ago and scored it favourably. However, despite the growing trend of poor reviews via Tripadvisor we felt like giving it a chance. Sadly the negative reviews are accurate. On the night we attended the place was not busy however what we noticed was that there were plenty of people with drinks but a lack of food on the tables. Also there wasn't much smell coming from kitchen. This was 1730 The table we were offered wasn't set and therefore once seated there was a rush to get us plates/cutlery taken from another non-occupied table. 20 minutes later to get a drinks order. Then another 20 minutes to take our order. 40 minutes is a long wait when you have children with you. Sadly the food took another lengthy wait and when arrived it was lukewarm and very bland. Portions are tiny. Also some of our order never came and with no one from front of house coming back to our table to make sure everything was ok or even to get us extra drinks we were unable to highlight this. Consequently, the bill was wrong. Admittedly there was no issue in highlighting that food didn't arrive and the bill corrected accordingly. In summary - a very poor experience, Tintos food does not reflect what Spanish food is celebrated for...ie taste. It is sad to say we will not be back and will head to Glasgow for our tapas in future.

Good food. Friendly staff. Good service.

The food is absolutely dreadful. I ordered chicken and pepper kebab. It was dry and bitter tasting (returned) , and hadn’t been heated properly . Salad hadn’t been washed and it was gritty, ham and cheese toast served on cheap bread, but tasted ok. The waitress was nice, but starting off our order with a list of items not on the menu is a bad start. Don’t bother, better options in Troon.

It took 40 minutes from ordering to starter arriving, then the main course came 5 minutes later!Food was OK, but wouldn't have me going back. The server's manor was very off hand, I didn't feel like a valued customer.

Disappointing visit. The Seafood Paella was overly salty, and didn't contain a lot of seafood. Side dishes were ok at best. The bread was of poor quality. Service was friendly but it wasn't the quickest despite it being relatively quiet.

Excellent service from male waiter and food was excellent will definitely be back when we are in Troon. Through from Edinburgh for the day and noticed the Tuesday deal on the board outside. Can’t wait to come back.

Compared to Tinto in Largs the service was poor. You were not made to feel welcome. The food is good but the staff were not really welcoming.

Nice wee tapas place with a very broad selection that can be hard to choose from. We had 6 small plates and I strongly recommend getting at LEAST 3 plates per person because of the portion sizes. The place was extremely quiet - we were the only ones there.

Had a lovely lunch with a friend. The service from the 2 girls was friendly and very good, as the place filled up quickly. Good advice on menu choices and very tasty food. Order bread with the Gambas pil pil as you will need it to soak up the lovely buttery sauce !! Extremely good value and good atmosphere.
