I'm always wary of ordering beef in eating establishments as I've found more times than not it can be quite tough unless cooked correctly. Nothing to worry about here. I went specifically to try out the Thursday carvery that 1 or 2 locals had recommended since the last time I had a Sunday roast there over a year ago and wasn't great. I had 2 slices of really lean, tender beef along with a tasty faggot in an onion sauce. The choice of half a dozen or so vegetables were cooked to perfection along with a large crispy Yorkshire pud. I asked if I could go back for more veggies rather than load up the plate on first serving and the friendly, talkative chef said I could have as much as I wanted. An excellent meal all for £11. Needless to say, I wasn't able to partake in a dessert. Maybe next time, as I will now make this a much more frequent event. The only disappointment was that there was only myself and a couple of other diners between midday and when I left at 1.20, so there was no atmosphere in the dining area, some in the main bar.I really hope enough people turn up for the Thursday carvery ( there's also one on Sundays which will no doubt be more popular) as it is definitely the best option for a lunchtime meal in the area and superb value for money.

Acommodation poor. Room extremely small. No clothes storage at all. Nowhere for suitcases. Just five hooks on the wall over a radiator that did not work. The small ensuite comprised shower toilet and basin with nowhere to put your bits and pieces. NO VENTILATION of the ensuite other than back into the small bedroom. Shocking! Does this comply with building regs?? The pub downstairs was OK, but the accommodation spoilt our stay.

We stumbled across into this pub, quite a few of us in tow... circa 9/ 10 of us. The staff were super accommodating and friendly, couldn't fault them. However my fish burger sandwich wasn't great, drinks were though. And felt the toilets were a little tired also.

Prompt and efficient service by pleasant young lady. Simple menu with plenty of options, we ordered sandwiches that were served promptly. Whole cost for 3 was £35 Inc drinks.Wheelchair accessibility: A few steps to negotiate.

We stayed at The Yew Tree whilst on a walking weekend in the Shropshire Hills. It’s a great place to stay, the room was tastefully done and the food was very good, both for dinner and breakfast. Family run business that doesn’t have the ‘part of a chain’ feel to it. Good value for money as well. We will definitely return if we are in the area again. Thanks for a great stay.

Probably the nicest Hunters Chicken I've ever tasted. My frien who had the same agreed. Hubby enjoyed the beef. Desserts were nice too. Good service and reasonable prices

A nice traditional pub with rooms. Nice bar with the sprinkling of locals a d visitors alike. It serves Ludlow Gold on draught which is always a massive plus! Lovely pub grub - gammon and chips, fish and chips. Huge portions but really tasty and terrific VFM!!Room was spotless and rather modern in style. Unfortunately the radiators didn't work until the staff had re-booted the boiler later in the evening! There was a lovely big bath there too- but no hot water all night or even this morning. Separate shower had hot water! Disappointing as we don't have a bath at home and it was a trip for my wife's birthday and she fancied a luxuriant bath! Shame as this has prevented a 5 out of 5.

Went for Sunday lunch. Nice, spacious pub with outdoor seating. Busy but no waiting around, could just go to the carvery when we wished. Choice of meats and plenty of veg & potatoes. Even saw a young girl go back for a second full plate! Friendly service. Would recommend.

Nice spot to spend an evening. Not a huge menu but the food is very good. Friendly place with good service. One of the better places to eat in the area or a nice place to just pop in for a drink.
