I'm so glad I found this hotel. When we arrived we were met by the owner and she made us feel very welcomed. The room we got exceeded our expectations in every way. The bed was so comfortable we almost didn't want to get up. After exploring the town we headed to the The Bridge Bar at the hotel. The beer was good, the pizza next door was delicious and everyone was friendly. If you're ever in Ellesmere this is the hotel I would recommend and the pub! Cheers!

We stayed here for one night to attend our friends birthday party in the village. Location was excellent and the addition of being able to park for free was a bonus. The welcome was....well....sparse. We were not told anything about check out, assumed we knew where everything was and whilst we were shown to our room, it was a bit rushed as the lady was clearly busy looking after the bar. The room was large and spacious - overly warm but bed was comfortable and it was clean. Felt it was pricey at £120 for the night considering there is no breakfast included. We werent told what to do at check out but managed to figure out from the cleaner the following morning about the key drop box. All in all - an ok experience but wouldn't rush to stay again.

My wife and I stayed here in this town centre hotel for two nights in June. We were in room 9 – fans of the TV series will understand why we were cautious entering the room! We needn’t have worried – this is a large room refurbished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. In fact the whole hotel has been refurbished to a high standard with quality materials, good workmanship and a good eye to design: a beautiful building to wander around, all of it spotlessly clean and a credit to the owners. There was a lovely large bar with a good range of drinks. Anyway, back to room 9. A lovely large room with a lovely large shower room The room was well equipped with storage furniture and a king size bed which turned out to be very comfortable. There was a well equipped hospitality tray. The shower room was well equipped and the shower was easy to use – not always the case. The room was also equipped with an electric sauna, a surprising find – which we didn’t use. The room overlooks the yard at the back of the hotel and was fitted with a plastic double glazed window which shut out any noise. The yard itself was a very pleasant place to drink in the warm afternoon sunshine, and opened out onto the car park for Ellesmere town centre. The hotel was not offering food of any sort, but there are plenty of nearby cafes and restaurants to choose from. We had a good breakfast in a cafe just a few steps from the hotel front door. The owners were very sociable. In conclusion we thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel and we’ll certainly be back when we next stay in the area.

Room 7 the room was dated with a opaque window which was directly off the hallway so no actual outside view couldn’t leave the window open for any fresh air or to cool the room down as it was opened to the corrodor, as people walking the corridor they would see right in to my room directly bathroom dated shower mould around the basin carpets in the en-suite toilet not fixed down , Wi-Fi didn’t work upstairs nor was there any phone signal , Loud bar music and the sound of someone washing the pots at 5am work me up Lucky it was a work paid trip and only for 1 night but by far the worst place I have ever stayed in the UK.

I stayed at the hotel for a triathlon which was being held locally this weekend and we had a fabulous stay. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean. The bar was also lovely with an amazing range of flavoured gins, and with wonderful staff. The car park was very small, but in saying that, the public car park next door was very reasonably priced. The hotel is ideally situated for the little village centre and local restaurants. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I have been passing through Ellesmere for more years than I care to remember, and I've always fancied a evening out here. As I've passed through I've seen the Ellesmere hotel go through a transformation from being run down to a great looking establishment. So we took the plunge and booked a Saturday night here. The room was great with a modern bathroom and we enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning, especially when covid restrictions are relaxed. Although even with the current restrictions our visit to Ellesmere was very enjoyable.

Really good food and good service. We were 14 people who booked 1 hour before arrival. All the food came at the same time, which is not usual. The children were happy as were the adults.
