13 Scotland St, EllesmereWhat a lovely place, welcoming atmosphere and great attentive service. They were busy and running little behind but the cheerful and friendly waiting staff kept everyone informed and everything was well worth the 15 minute wait ? quiche for me and brunch for my breakfast fussy husband was absolutely perfect. A good strong pot of tea and delightful milkshake made with ice cream. Loved it all.

The Shropshire Distillery
Eastwick Ln, EllesmereI got this experience as a gift for my mum and I for something for us to do together. The experience ran 3/6pm and we had the most amazing time. You get 5 gins throughout the experience to try and get to make your own, leaving the day with your very own 70cl bottle of gin! Emma and Gareth were amazing throughout the day making it a personal and interactive experience along the way. Would highly recommend this experience for anyone. We will definitely be back!

Cross St, EllesmereThis is a pub. There is no 'theme', no gastro, no bar menu nonsense (unless dry roasted peanuts, industrial pork scratchings and pickled eggs is your idea of a 3 course meal... Which come to think of it...?). It makes no apologies for being a boozer, and neither does it need to, for a mighty fine ale house it is, serving well kept beer at a decent price and a unique collection of shortbread, colouring pencils, boxes of mixed chocolates and Elvis paraphernalia. (I kid you not, but if you don't believe me you'll have to go check it out for yourself! ?)

31 Cross St, EllesmereGorgeous family-friendly restaurant. We ordered a range of starters to share plus a Greek salad - everything came out piping hot and fresh. The courgette fritters and Greek sausage were the favourites, the Greek sausage came in a delicious garlicky sauce. Cocktails are 2-4-1 on Thursdays. Food for two (plus toddler), two rounds of cocktails, beer and soft drinks came to just over £70 which I felt was reasonable.Kid-friendliness: Highchair provided

"Bridge Bar" at the Ellesmere Hotel
Hotel, High St, EllesmereOnly stayed for one night but what a lovely pub with restaurant first class staff very helpful food was excellent walked around the mere lake beautiful spot the room was very comfortable had everything I needed including free Wi-Fi throughout the premises

Pizza The Mere
hotel, High St, EllesmerePizzas were really good. Was a bit difficult to find where to collect, it's inside the hotel, through the doors on the right and the kitchen was on the left. They left the pizzas on the side for us to collect so we weren't waiting around.

Ellesmere Kebab House
23 Cross St, EllesmereSurprisingly nice, not what I expected. A free kinda chocolate bar for my daughter was a nice touch as we waited for our pizzas. Cheery guy serving, Not the cheapest around, but certainly very tasty. 12 "Americana pictured.
