Quite an experience.

I took my wife here for her birthday on Saturday The food, presentation and service was first class. It made the night into an event rather than just a meal out. The front of house staff were very attentive. When we grumbled about the service charge they asked if they would like it removed from the bill which they did. I left a cash tip which is what I prefer and they definitely deserved. We had the tasting menu with my wife having the meat free options that I enviously glanced when they were being served. We resisted the temptation to photograph the superbly presented dishes enjoying each one as they arrived.Highly recommended.Vegetarian options: The chef modifies the dishes to account for food requirements. They are equal or better than the meat options.

Thoroughly enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu. What a treat! The waiting staff were charming and very welcoming, and the place has a lovely ambiance.

We had great expectations for this restaurant during our short trip to Ludlow. The food was wonderful but the overall atmosphere wasn't. Amazing building, full of character, but lacking something. We felt like we had taken a trip back in time. It wasn't our kind of place, but the food was excellent.

This is a rather posh, but not pretentious, fine dining restaurant, in a beautiful old building. Superb service beginning with having your coats, and anything else, taken from you, with a drink served to you in the little lounge area, whilst you peruse your menu. You are then shown to your table where the gastronomy begins. As well as a tasting menu, there is also an option to have the separate courses served with a matching wine. I couldn't fault the food, and at the end you are given macaroons, fudge and truffles. At this point I was too full so asked for a couple of these to be boxed. The only down side was that I felt the temperature was a little cool. This aside the restauarnt is well worth a visit. It appeared that clientele return many times, which just goes to show the quality.

Pre Christmas treat for me and hubby. Had the tasting menu which was fantastic, I even enjoyed the goats cheese which i normally regard as the devils food. The front of house team were very friendly and knowledgeable, the historic setting just adds to the ambiance. Little tip there’s parking at the back as Ludlow has very keen parking wardens.

Another brilliant meal - beautiuflly presented, well-balanced and perfectly cooked. We find tediously, long pretentious Tasting Menus have had their day but the six-course Tasting Menu at Mortimers is absolutely spot on. The atmosphere is relaxed and the team very welcoming and friendly.

We choose the resturant for our first wedding anniversary. And what an amazing choice. Camila was wonderful we felt very special. Little touches like our names on our menu and happy anniversary on some of our dishes. The wine pairing was exquisite. This is a very special very intimate experience .

This was an impromptu lunch whilst visiting my daughter together with a wicked step-mother. If my memory is functioning properly I ate in this building many years ago when it belonged to Clause Bosi and was called Hibiscus. That was a good meal but this was even better. Firstly given the standard of cooking, the ambience and the service £55 for a lunch time tasting menu was outstanding value. Especially as the plates were Shropshire size, not Shoreditch sized - it's hard to imagine anyone feeling hungry after such a meal. All the courses were good, the goats mousse with baby beetroots and the beef fillet with charred shallots/leek/confit mash being the high point. We didn't 'do' the wine flight but the choices looked to be well chosen. A very good lunch indeed.

Excellent food. Wonderful flavours and great variety. The original wood panelling creates a real sense of history. Quiet and attentive service

We had a very enjoyable meal, everything was good food, service, wine however I was expecting a bit more of a wow especially with the food. When you're paying this amount of money I wanted my taste buds to sing. Also they need a sommelier if you're doing a wine pairing the staff knowledge was limited. Good but expected more.

A place for a treat and occasion. Expensive but this well established restaurant has been doing things well for Ludlow locals and visitors alike for over a decade. It's smooth and well run and the food is of good quality, elegantly presented and imaginative if somewhat 'chefy' in style. The service was friendly, informative and efficient. The only downside is the venue itself, an old building that feels a bit gloomy and confined with very little natural light - some might say 'cosy', depends on personal preferences.

An excellent top quality meal with a very pleasant wine flight Attention to detail together with excellent and friendly service results in a restaurant I couldn't fault Unlike some of the Michelin restaurants in Birmingham I could not criticise the quantities on the plate and would have no problem in recommending Mortimers to friends and family and look forward to my next visit
