I can't praise the Angel highly enough. The food is always superb, and the staff are welcoming and attentive. The fish dishes are the star of the show, and the casual feel of the place makes for a great experience. My favourite is the Anchovies on toast, which sounds simple but is simply heaven on a plate. There's always a good selection of specials on the menu and an extensive drinks selection. Dog friendly, too. Brilliant all round.

An amazing independent, quirky and very original restaurant. The food is delicious and the decor is very eclectic, housed in a very old historic building. Would absolutely recommend.

We popped in for a beer and found a fantastic place, with an unexpectedly authentic Spanish vibe. Dried hams hanging from the ceiling, Alioli stacked high and a warm & generous owner.

Need a calm, relaxing place to enjoy some oysters and a glass of fizz on a friday afternoon? Go here. Enough said. Not all of you. Not all at once. I’d have to start making reservations!

A Nautical Affair at The Angel: Lord Nelson's Culinary Ménage à TroisAhoy, adventurous gastronomes! Prepare to embark on a culinary voyage like no other at The Angel in Ludlow, where history meets hilarity in a tale of love, scandal, and scrumptious fare. Nestled within the quaint walls of what was once witness to Lord Nelson's legendary ménage à trois, this establishment has transformed from a rendezvous of romance to a haven for food enthusiasts. As you step into The Angel, you can almost hear the echoes of Lord Nelson's charming laughter bouncing off the ancient walls. The ambiance is a delightful blend of classic elegance and cheeky allure, much like the man himself. The restaurant manages to capture the essence of its scandalous past while maintaining an air of refined sophistication. The menu, much like Lord Nelson's love life, is a diverse affair. Start your culinary escapade with the "Nautical Nibbles," a selection of appetizers that promise to set the tone for the evening. The "Admiral's Artichoke Dip" and "Mistress Mussels" are particularly enticing, each bite leaving you longing for more, much like the historic trio's entanglements. For the main course, the "Love Triangle Linguine" is a must-try. This pasta dish weaves a tale of flavors, with each strand telling a different story. The combination of seafood, scandalous spices, and a hint of rebellion makes for a truly memorable dish. The dessert menu is where The Angel truly spreads its wings. The "Sweet Seduction Soufflé" pays homage to Lord Nelson's ability to sweet talk his way into anyone's heart. The velvety texture and sinful sweetness make it a fitting end to this culinary adventure. The service at The Angel is as attentive as a lover's gaze, with the staff seamlessly navigating between history and hilarity. They manage to uphold the restaurant's romantic reputation while ensuring that your dining experience remains light-hearted and enjoyable. In conclusion, The Angel in Ludlow is not just a restaurant; it's a theatrical experience that brings history to life on your plate. Lord Nelson's ménage à trois may be a thing of the past, but the legacy lives on in the delightful concoctions served within these walls. So, gather your own trio of companions and set sail for an evening of laughter, scandal, and utterly scrumptious cuisine!

Had lunch here with six friends, food and service excellent.the only point I would make is that I thought the prices were a little on the high end of the scale.however I suppose this is ludlow ....Parking: The parking situation in ludlow puts me off visiting the town for shopping or eating out.allways got a nasty feeling that however careful I am I'm going to get a ticket !!!.

What a great quirky place. Decor is amazing. I could have stayed here all evening, especially if someone had begun to play the piano. This sits in the upstairs dining area. The main menu was mainly fish, both myself and my partner had the monkfish, which was delicious. There is also a tapas menu. If our food was anything to go by, anything you ate would be delicious. Well worth a visit.

Incredible authentic cooking. Fish recommended, you will have little better in the UK. It is as fresh as you will find and cooked to perfection. For those who remember the Jolly Frog, this is Martin at his finest. Cracking atmosphere too and amazing friendly staff.

Dreadful experience. Having dined in Spain many times this did not feel like Spanish food. Food was lukewarm, smothered in mayo type sauce, poor presentation, not very appetising at all. Overpriced. We paid the bill, said we were disappointed and left Will not return and would not recommend.

Tiny portions, huge prices, and an experience I don't care to repeat. I wad hugely disappointed and had expected much better.

Had lunch there and it was awesome. Ordered tapas including chicken skewers, meatballs and tomato salad. Also had tiramisu for dessert, one of the best I’ve had, served in a coffee cup which was a nice twist. Staff were chatty and attentive. The decor is great adding to the unique atmosphere.
