Food was really rather tasty and, whilst quiet, service was swift and friendly. Felt like value for money given the food quality.

Lovely location but this hotel is alas not pooch friendly after all. If you arrive with pooch you will be placed three floors up in the tiny, meany, draughty roof space (no lift), and no suggestion of help with your suitcase. The grumpy old man who hates his job will warn you and your schnauzer NOT to dare place a foot over the threshold of the conservatory or dining room, and to remain at all times in front of desk where he can keep beady, rheumy eye trained on you. If you ask for a sausage for said schnauzer's breakfast the gammon man's lip will curl and he will plonk a suspicious smelling old sausage down, inadvertently treading on dog's tail. Your dog will throw up onto precious threshold of dining room and after you have paid your bill the grumpy dog hating misogynist will pour abuse on your hungry and innocent schnauzer. Gracie and I had a horrd time and shall never return.

Staff and service was good but the heating was turned off overnight on the coldest night of the winter. My wife and me were frozen by 3am and had to dressed in bed to try to keep warm. The Duvets were very

Lovely one night weekend stay . Brilliant location nice 10 min walk into Ludlow. Accommodation was superb we were in an annexe outside the main building very quiet and spacious. Great parking too. We had evening meal which was wonderful highly recommend it. Breakfast excellent too. Can’t fault our stay.

We had 2 nights in the Cliffe as we'd not been to Ludlow before and the hotel seemed perfectly placed. It turned out to be a great choice. Right from the off the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the town centre, so easy to get in and out without using the car. We'd booked dinner the first night that turned out to be first class. Again the service and friendliness of the staff stood out, but the food was excellent. Also a good choice of beers and other drinks. The room was simple but well equipped with superb views of Ludlow Castle. Breakfast was also very nice. There are many local walks with fabulous scenery and views. However, be warned, walking back in the dark is a challenge and recommend you take a small torch or use your phone to light the way, as the street lights aren't great. However, it's quiet location was well worth it as we both enjoyed the peace and quiet. Ludlow was equally as nice and we both enjoyed our stay. Our last day was timed to visit the Ludlow food festival, that turned out to be a lovely end to our visit. We left our car at the hotel, which added to our experience. We would thoroughly recommend.

First time staying here, absolutely lovely place, nice, quiet location but close by to Ludlow itself and everything the town has to offer.

I live in Ludlow and when at home my friend and I enjoy going around to the Cliff every week and throughly enjoy our visit. The staff are very pleasant and food is good. As a retired bus and coach driver I ķnow of no other Hotel I would prefer to use than the Cliff. 5 stars well earned in my view. You will find me and friend most Sunday evenings.

Very nice room, good breakfast and evening meal. Easy walk in to Ludlow.Only poor comment, please ditch the single use plastic in things like room shampoo.

'There's a small hotel by a wishing well'...Not quite - but the Cliffe is by a river and you could do worse for a romantic awayday or two. One of best features is the laid-back jazz music. Efficient and amiable staff. Very good restaurant. If arriving via Ludlow by car as likely, approach roads are narrow. Just take your time, plain sailing after the bridge.Walkability: Easy walk into Ludlow - about twenty minutes.Food & drinks: The fish part of menu is very good. Good beer, well kept.

Idyllic location, near to Ludlow. Eat & drink outdoors. Great venue for an event. Great back-drop for wedding photos, with lawn area.

Lovely food, great service, nicely decorated.Food & drinks: A small menu, but well prepared. Don't specifically cater for children but they made the effort and sat us near a door so she could stretch her legsNoteworthy details: Look out for their jazz nights, worth a visit

We had a wonderful stay here with our children and found the place to be perfect in terms of location but also both food quality and service. We stayed on the dinner, bed and breakfast rate which allows the adults £35 towards your evening meal and the staff kindly organised for the children to have something to suit them for which we paid extra. All in all a lovely stay and only a short walk into Ludlow. Highly recommended.
