Great cheese and friendly service

Had our wedding cheese cake from here, was a great price and really loved that you could get a hefty discount by picking it up from the shop.Ended up costing us £110 for enough cheese for 80 people. We ended up putting a large chunk of it in the freezer, so we’ve enjoyed cheese every weekend for the past four months too!

We visited on the Saturday of the coronation when we were on a short break in the area. The shop was about to close, but the lovely lady at the counter still served us. She gave us some good suggestions; we bought three local cheeses and were very happy with our purchase.

Full marks well deserved! I order a lot online but I have never ever received such a neat and well packed parcel and it was also delivered by a very friendly guy too. I bought the cheese before from the shop so I know it will be fantastic. I am very happy that you do deliveries and take care of the products so well! Thanks you and will order again soon!

Ordered 5 cheeses for £35.00. The website said each would be 'about 200g. On receipt of the parcel I weighed each cheese. Three out of the five weighed just123g, 148g and 191g. The other two 198g and 206g.The reason I was initially given was that their costs had gone up. They then changed the reason to, it was the type of cheese I had ordered. Then why did they accept the order in the first place? They are very unwilling to make good after I requested them to do so but it seems they believe they are right. All I know, is that from the expected, about 1000g, I received only 870g.

We were visiting Ludlow and stuck our heads in as the window display looked appealing with a wide selection of cheeses local to the area that we were not familiar with. We bought a red cheese a smoked and a local blue cheese and each have been excellent.

My wife and I had the unfortunate circumstance of deigning to cross the threshold of this incredibly important woman's shop just this afternoon. As we entered it was as if we carried a great smell with us, or a dog had scurried in instead and put its filthy dirt trodden paw upon the counter, chancing for a scrap. Despite our smiles and our courteous entrance, no impression could be made upon the steely gaze that was laid upon us, bar disgust, and every further effort only served to distance us greater from an understanding. Realising our folly, and dispensing with small talk we proceeded directly to the cheeses, but only little information was forthcoming, as though we were spies searching undercover for vital information and having been caught doing so. We were lucky to be allowed to sample but one cheese without question, and we quickly pocketed this at the allotted price tag for fear of being shown the underside of her boot, and quickly the paving stones outside. Cautiously I ventured towards a second cheese, again making the mistake of a small amount of conversation around the subject, and was quickly batted down, like a step child out of sight of its true parent. The owner was incredulous, in a 'More... MORE??? (Oliver Twist)' way that left figurative raps across my knuckles, but through my sheer perseverance I benefited our company a single sliver of new yellow and blue soft cheese. Biting into it was such sweet and unexpected heaven, even under such scrutiny, and perhaps this is why the owner is able to exercise such fear in her visitors, as they cautiously, timidly, press for enlightenment on the great feast of cheeses on display. I'll say this for the place, we had two lovely cheeses and I'm eating one now. I just wish she could have been a little nicer. We would have bought an awful lot more.

We visited today and cannot praise the produce or service highly enough! The lady serving was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. We have just enjoyed cheese and biscuits for dinner and then checked out the website for when we run out (we're not from round there). A must visit for Ludlow, or if you're a cheese lover, you must visit Ludlow. Great selection of sheep and goats cheese.

Popped in today Wednesday 13th April and asked for a sample of a cheese not tried before. Have to say this was given most reluctantly from the lady serving and was told if it got busy she would not be able to do this (rather strange as we were the only 2 people in the shop). We did make a £5 purchase but will not be returning or recommending this shop as we found her attitude and abrupt manner not customer friendly at all.Give this cheese shop a miss.

we ordered a cheese stack as an alternative wedding cake being big cheese lovers. also trying to support a local independence supplier after the hectic and awful few years due to the pandemic. Hand delivered to our door and everyone loved it. I wish we didn’t have to eat it.

My daughter visited last week with the view to ordering a cheese wedding cake, told she had not made an appointment so could not go in the shop to even discuss it really quite rude. Glad they are so busy they don't need the business.

I was down on holiday from Scotland over the Christmas period and I noticed this little cheese shop in the centre of Ludlow. It was Christmas Eve and there was a queue outside which told me it was worth waiting to get some cheese as I wanted to try something new. The shop is very small with real character. I was impressed with the variety of cheeses to choose from. Once I was inside I got a great welcome I got the cheese I had spied as I waited. I should say the cheese (Stichelton) was lovely. Great to try something new and the staff deserve a medal for their enthusiasm after what had probably been an extremely busy day for them.
