Another wonderful stay . Hotel is very comfortable with excellent food and helpful, friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble which makes for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Hotel is set in a beautiful area and has picturesque gardens. Will definitely be returning

The food was excellent. But let down by the rooms there was a strong smell of Dogs. They did try and clean it after we told them. But it only masked the smell. We where booked in for a week but left a day early couldn't stand the smell any longer. We should not have excepted it and left straight away. The rooms where tired and small but OK for dogs.

This wonderful restaurant and hotel should be recognised with an armful of Michelin Stars. It's located in a lucious deep and verdant valley where only those who are truly committed to hunt this complete treasure of a restaurant and boutique hotel will find. From the minute you arrive, you're made to feel at complete ease and welcomed by the professional and sincere staff. The ambience and decor is warm, inviting and comfortable. The wine list is extensive and informative, without being intimidating!! The menu is seasonal and the dishes are sublime. Congratulations to all the team at is truly outstanding hotel.

Another fantastic stay at Pen-y-Dyffren in what the hotel calls the Pink Room, overlooking the garden. Afternoon tea was very enjoyable with homemade scones, homemade raspberry jam and clotted cream. The evening meal was equally enjoyable as was the breakfast. Thanks to Charlotte and Tommy and their team. We don’t know all their names but Jo looked after us in the afternoon and Emma looked after us in the evening. The weather was perfect, for a change, as the hotel provides a series of walks to suit all abilities. We’ll be back next year.

Wonderful 4 night stay in this gem of a hotel. Located in beautiful countryside the hotel’s welcome was warm with complimentary tea and scones on arrival. We stayed in the Champagne room which was very comfortable with a beautiful view over the garden. It also had a double spa bath which added a touch of indulgence. We stayed on a DB&B basis and the food was sensational. As well as 4 courses there were canapés to start. Great wine list as well. Every night the menu changed and there was at least 4 choices for each course. The food and level of service really sets this hotel apart and I am sure we will return.

Myself & husband came here for a romantic break. We had been here 8 years ago & things have definitely changed since then. The hotel has expanded since our last visit with additional outside buildings. We stayed in the Valley room which is situated in one of the outer buildings a short walk from the wain hotel. Beautifully decorated room & nice size for two. Lovely little touches like fresh milk, fridge in the room, chocolate brownies in the fridge & robe & slippers to chill. We had a lovely sitting area outside with a decent size patio with beautiful views overlooking the country side. The room had a double jacuzzi bath although the jets weren’t as powerful as we had hoped but it was at it was still nice to relax in. We were provided with a free afternoon tea on arrival & had a warm welcome. On arrival at the restaurant for evening meal we had our table allocated to us with our room name on so to be allocated the same table throughout our stay which was lovely. The evening meal was amazing & as it was part of our package we had a three corse meal that was well worth the value. The young waitress that served us was very polite & the food was freshly cooked to perfection. Breakfast was equally tasty, good quality produce & nothing cheep on our plates. We really enjoyed having a room away from the hotel, it was so quiet & peaceful with the added bonus of a little seating area just down from our room & sun beds to lie on. We were very relaxed after our stay & will definitely come back again.

Out in the wilds but scenic, peaceful and charming. Arrived late afternoon, greeted immediately and given a quick tour of the public areas before being shown to our coach house in the grounds. Treated to a complimentary afternoon tea with homemade jam which was lovely. Food was outstanding with excellent presentation, the staff very courteous, lovely decor. No mini bar/ safe in room. Our bathroom had a digital bath which was a first for us with gorgeous smelling toiletries which I think you could purchase. Housekeeping in public areas needed a bit of attention hence the reason for 4/5. Would definitely stay again if I had the chance.

Such a lovely spot. The gardens were looking beautiful. Food was very good and staff very friendly. The little details make it special. We met some very nice people to chat to at dinner and breakfast. When we arrived we had our warm homemade scone and cream then did a 50 minute walk from the hotel up the hill and through the fields to a view point across to North Wales, then back through a wood to the hotel. Perfect walk before getting ready for dinner. The hotel has a book of walks to choose from. It was all a real treat! We look forward to going back. Chirk Castle a short drive away which we enjoyed walking in the gardens and surrounding area. Recommended the bee guide.
