Had a meal for a Christmas gathering. The hunters chicken was bloody lovely; hot, tasty and plenty of it. 2 for £16, can't go wrong. Definitely recommend.

I stayed here recently for a dinner which was held at The Shrewsbury Drapers Hall. This is a very unique place to be and you couldn't beat the place for cost. The room was pleasant and clean. The bed was very comfy and the breakfast was just right. Only point maybe to say is that I was told breakfast from from 8am - 9am. Which I thought was a little early. But i really couldn't fault the place. I would defiantly recommend this hotel. Perfectly placed in the Town centre.Thank you for a lovely stay.Carl D. Popped by at lunchtime on Saturday. Looking for a family friendly place for lunch that wasn't too loud or mad busy. Service was excellent, reasonably priced and had a childs menu. We will return for lunch again when in town.

One of my favourite pubs in Shrewsbury, full of character and history.Great food and menu, good selection of ale on tap, drinks and really good value.Warm and cosy, lovely atmosphere, friendly welcoming staff who are only too happy to guide you through the "dishes of the day" or recommend something else from the menu. Thanks Reiss for making my lunch visit here very enjoyable and special. If you haven't been to this tucked away gem of a pub, do pop in as I'm sure you will not be disappointed.Nearby activities: Lots to do in beautiful Shrewsbury. One of my very favourite towns full of historical buildings and history.Darwin couldn't have been wrong to have liked it so much..Safety: Shrewsbury on the whole is very safeWalkability: Even though there's lots of hills and cobbled streets, Shrewsbury oozes in charm, character and gorgeous buildingsFood & drinks: So many good café's, restaurants, pubs and one is spoilt for choices within Shrewsbury town centre.Noteworthy details: The famous River Severn runs right through Shrewsbury and walking down by the river and it's bridges is certainly something very special to see, explore and experience no doubt..

I can't talk about the rooms as we did not stay over. We popped in for a drink. Considering it was a Thursday evening, the pub was not busy, which was nice as we could talk and have a quiet drink. I love the ambience of the place, and the history is everywhere you look. As a psychic medium, it had amazing vibes and resident ghosts. Photos given are of the night out and not the location.

Meal okay. Did bring one incorrect meal. The food could have been warmer and beef was difficult to cut and chew. Staff friendly.

Hidden away off a side street is the Old Post Office .We went in looking for a light mid day lunch and were not disappointed with sandwiches that came with freshly prepared salad and home made chips which Was voted as one of the best meals on our visit to the area. I only wished we had time to come back and try the main menu which we will do when in the area again.
