A local pub for local people...This is our local, and we visit approximately monthly. The owners are nice, very friendly, do a good Sunday lunch. The pub is dog friendly, has a dart board and is home to the local croquet league. The owners are on holiday this week, and the experience was far from edifying. A large group who would have been encouraged to slow down by the owners made our "quiet pint" impossible. Instead we were regaled by a loud and boorish subsection of their clientele on how many followers they had on various forms of social media, subjected to an odd form of "knocky door neighbour" involving banging on the windows, and then insulted as we left. The conviction of this group that "that's going to end up on Google reviews" has become self-fulfilling because they said that, and "don't worry, we're regulars - they're foreigners", whilst we were in earshot. Well done. You've made a pub an unwelcome place for occasional drinkers - we hope you're putting enough behind the bar to cover the loss of other custom.

Visited this gem whilst on holiday in the area. The landlord and landlady were so welcoming. We booked for Sunday Lunch and all I can say is AMAZING. We had roast beef sharer platter and the portions were big and excellent value. Can honestly say this is the best roast we’ve ever had in any pub or restaurant EVER. Even though we were both full, couldn’t resist to indulge in homemade dessert of raspberry trifle and husband had the cheeseboard. Will we visit again? Absolutely!!

We live about a mile away having moved to Ironbridge in 2021. We had visited on two previous occasions over a year ago and were not particularly bowled over. Fast forward to 2023; upon recommendation from our new neighbours who were regulars we decided to give the place another go. The new landlord & landlady (Emma & Steve) clearly know their trade and the landlady spent time chatting to us about their recent tenure. I have to say that we were very impressed and booked in for Sunday lunch. This is our second visit today and all I can say is WOW!!! The food and service were exceptional and the best value in these parts. My husband would never order Sunday lunch out but he is a convert!! Everything was plentiful, tasty and served in a timely fashion. The plates were piping hot and the young lad who took the orders and served us was extremely polite and an asset to the team. We are booked in again to bring visiting family here in a few weeks time; this is now our go to place for food and extremely good ales, service and a very warm welcome. If wanting Sunday lunch please book in advance. You will not be disappointed!

Really lovely pub. Had a Sunday roast here which was absolutely beautiful. Everything was flavourful, and cooked with real care. Would have liked to try the desert menu, but tapped out after the main course as the portions were generous.
