We ladies have stopped here a few times on our walks. Always friendly, service is good and best toasted tea cakes in the area.

Coffee is on the high cost side and may be good ingredients but not well made so not good.Unfortunately seems nearby farms were fertiliser spreading ( or something) so a bit smellyStill, nice sitting area on the lock and good food and cake options

One of those cafes that serves solid, wholesome food at a reasonable price. You won't get a fancy pants salad here but neither will you leave hungry.I enjoyed a decently sized baked potato with tuna and it hit the spot. The garnish was some leaves with one tomato and a slice of cucumber. Simple and really what more do you need?Parking: Really you need to walk here along the canal. We managed to park in a nearby layby but it was pretty full.

First time visit to Lockside Cafe. Staff are lovely. Lovely building in a picturesque setting next to the Shropshire Union Canal and staircase locks. Our food was very tasty. Nice selection of meals/snacks available at reasonable prices. Seating outside which is ideal for watching the barges come and go. Also a garden and children’s play area at the rear. We walked along the canal path under the bridge and met a couple of interesting people magnet fishing in the canal. A lovely place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Great location but when I arrived after a long walk with my 3 young children on a hot day and asked about what cold drinks they sell, the staff just pointed at the fridge. They also did not suggest that we might want to sit outside in the shaded garden, which we did not know existed. The people of Whitchurch are so friendly but nobody from the café asked us where we came from, where we are going, if we are ok or any question that would have made us feel welcomed. As I said: Great location, shame about the staff and the lack of genuine interest and care for their customers.
It is a really lovely place, a great outdoor seating area, and a nice view of the locks. Great coffee and cake. Dog friendly, which for us is great. Friendly staff too.

Extremely helpful and accomadating staff, we previously bought ice creams whilst doing the locks. They were delicious! My Dad was so grateful for your service. Thank you!

Great place to go for a drink and something to eat. The toasties, baguetts and the cake we had were lovely. Interesting to see all the barges going down the locks too! Well worth a visit.
