This was from last November. The food that James produced was outstanding! Along with Jo the sommelier and the wine pairings it made this visit incredible. What makes it more interesting is that you haven't got a clue what's going to be on the menu!

Absolutely fantastic! the food was delicious with a special surprise in every course. You don't know what you are going to get because you don't get the menu until you've finished. A very unique restaurant.

Just amazing. Perfect level of attentiveness from staff, atmosphere pitched just right between quiet and noisy (enjoyed listening to post-OK Computer era Radiohead all night!) and the food was incomparable. Every dish was a new and surprising adventure for the tastebuds. Never would have picked Whitchurch as a culinary hotspot but Wild Shropshire is single-handedly making it so.

We had a fantastic experience at Wild Shropshire! The concept of the restuarent is brilliant and we so enjoyed not being told what we were being served and trying to work it out - receiving the menu at the end of the menu was really fun! The staff were incredible - very attentive, knowledagble and friendly. The food was amazing and cooked with so much love and passion - loved being able to talk with James afterwards and hearing his plans for the farm and the future was brilliant. We would love to return! Thank you!

Totally blown away by the food, wine and the service. James and Jo are a fantastic team and create an amazing dining experience. It’s our new favourite restaurant and we can’t wait to go back! Excellent value for money too.

If I had to use one word to describe Wild Shropshire it would be - incredible. The food through to the wine and through to the atmosphere is just perfect. I love the concept of not knowing what you’re eating until after as it really tests your tastebuds! All of the people who work there are friendly, knowledgable and super welcoming. There’s no stuffiness here and James is so down to earth and you can tell that he and his team genuinely enjoy what they do. I think I’m due to have my 5th visit to the restaurant as we can’t keep away! Highly recommend this as a place for a date or with friends - it’s just brilliant.

Amazing tasting menu, full of flavour and accompanied with the alcohol free cocktail flight made for an incredible food experience. The blind menu was such a fun idea and after about 10-12 courses, we were certainly full to the brim. Service exquisite, restaurant was small and intimate and atmosphere perfect We will 100% be back soon and bring friends this time.

Where to start after such a fantastic evening at Wild Shropshire. First Impressions: The restaurant is a gorgeous space, with a lot of attention to detail in terms of decor and layout that made it feel stylish and cosy all at once. It felt high end, but not in a way that makes you feel on edge, but welcoming. We were sat at The Chefs Table (which I would highly recommend if you can get, enhanced our experience a lot). Our welcome was warm and coats swiftly taken and I noticed it was spotted that I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep my scarf so someo e instantly popped over to check if I did in fact want it taken off me. Another lovely factor is that because it's a small space everyone is seated together and the courses go out in sync, so there is no opening and closing of the door, people coming and going etc which can be frustrating when you dine in an intimate venue, but none of that here. I think this is another factor that adds to the intimate vibe of the restaurant. Drinks: Harry and Joe were our somms for the night and they know their stuff... The drinks menu has a great selection. I love a glass of fizz to start and was intrigued to see a variety I've not come across before alongside a good selection of decent fizz. We opted for the wine pairing to go with our meals, but we're equally tempted by the mixed pairing and the non-alcoholic pairings. The win pairings were very well paired - it's always a good start when you open with a glorious Riesling! We spoke about breweries in Birmingham and discovered they stocked one of our locals and we're generously given a taster of paired beer! After dinner we had some more drinks - my OH had an Old Fashioned - and bear in mind he lives his life disappointed by the majority of Old Fashioneds out there, he reckons that Wild Shropshire has produced the best Old Fashioned he's ever had, high praise indeed. I had a great orange wine for after dinner. Then we finished the night with a glass of nyetimber and again there was a generosity of consideration when despite free pour, it was felt we hadn't had a full glass each, so would we mind a second small glass of Nyetimber's BdeB. We probably wouldn't have noticed, but sometimes the small things stand out and it's these that take service from good to great. So massive kudos to Joe and Harry - we had sore heads the next day, which is entirely down to the strength of the wine and drinks list continually tempting us with a 'ooh go on then', which trust me is not often the case! Food: We loved the central conceit of the restaurant, that you get the menu at the end of the meal. This actually added an extra level of enjoyment in making us really interrogate our taste buds and think about what we were eating. Tasting menus are the direction of travel in fine dining and everyone knows this means you have to accept a course you don't like on most menus... But not here!! Everything we ate was delicious, nothing was anything other than tasty. Beautifully presented with the best selection of cutlery (!) But ultimately the key thing was that not only did it look good but it tasted good too! We loved hearing James's take on the dishes, which were crowd pleasers and which might divide the room! It was great to "discover" at the end of the meal if any of our guesses were correct! Service: In a word, brilliant. James is an engaged Chef who makes sure to connect with the diners and this was noticeable. Poppy was wonderful on Front of House and Joe and Harry were great on all things drinks. The service for us really took things up a level - we felt like it was never in your face, but neither did we ever feel we were waiting for things to happen and the team gel well which comes across in the vibe that comes through to us. So yes, a very long way to say, just book it. It might not be cheap, but actually it's incredible value for the quality of experience, food and drink that you get. Well done James and Team Wild Shropshire, an evening that we will remember for all th

What a wonderful experience. From start to finish, it was a journey of smells, textures and flavours and the wine flight was divine. So lucky to have this gem on our doorstep - we’ll be back!

Exemplary service from the minute you arrive. Chef James seems to have asked and answered a simple question, 'what would your perfect dining experience be like?'. With extraordinary care and love for local, high quality and innovative ingredients he and his brilliant team deliver 9 courses of near perfection in a relaxed, friendly and attentive - but never stifling - environment. Best dining experience for many years. Thank you all.

The food was a delight and a fabulous idea to present the menu post the tasting experience! James and his team deserve to do well! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be rebooking.

Absolutely amazing experience! Never had a tasting menu where we've enjoyed every single course until coming here. James seems to really care about the customer experience and is obviously very passionate about the food that he cooks - understandably so! Jo was also amazing and really helped to make our evening worth remembering with some great wine recommendations. Can't wait to come back and would recommend to anyone!
