British Restaurants in Bath

“Beautiful food and brilliant service! We got rarebit and haddock fritters to start, and I got a North African filo pastry dish and my partner got the steak for mains. All of it was sublime with a very unique blend of flavours. We finished out the meal with a round of cocktails, the lemon drop was stunning. You won’t regret ordering it! We went on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was lovely, a buzzy little spot in Bath. Definitely book if you’re interested in going.Vegetarian options: Really unique vegetarian options - it’s clear effort has gone into crafting these for both flavor and nutritional value”

“JUST GO - substantial, high quality, imaginative and delicious food. All courses were explained by the chefs, we did the wine pairing too, which included a number of wines we didn't know. Probably the best 1 star we have been to anywhere , not just in uk. My only suggestion would be to slow the time between the 7 courses a touch. We will definitely be back. Service faultless.”

“What a find. This is our first visit to this superb restaurant and it certainly won’t be our last. Lunch was a lovely all round experience. The food was present, created and plated exceptionally. The ingredients were fresh, balanced and skilfully combined to create beautiful dishes, well proportioned so there was enough room for pudding. The ambience is just right, casual , friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait for our next visit. We will certainly make it our ‘special’ restaurant.”

“Fine place. Slightly away from the centre so a bit calmer than other places. Even had an alcohol free Guiness which was great.”

“Gorgeous tiny restaurant tucked away in the backstreets just out of the touristy city centre. We had the 2 course lunch menu at £26 per head. Stunning value for such wonderful quality - every mouthful was delicious. Lovely service. Spotlessly clean. A+++”

“We had the tasting menu and wine flight for 4. Early table at 6pm so not too busy. The food was really good and the wines likewise. Not the cheapest at £150 per head (for taster menu and wine) but in the ball park for the style of food. Food and drinks were perhaps worth 5*s but as the dinner went on the alignment of wines and food shifted and we ended up with a few drinks well in advance of the next course so the drinks were gone before the food arrived! Also as the restaurant became busier the introduction of the food/wine and explanations were fairly limited. The only other thing was there was a spillage on a guest by a staff member at the start which didn’t get things off to the perfect start / the waiter was extremely apologetic and friendly which was great and the incident didn’t ruin our enjoyment but perhaps something off the bill at the end would have been a nice touch, in recognition of the accident.”

“We read about this lively venue on line and thought it would be worth a visit during our short stay in Bath. We went for early evening dinner. The jazz trio were already active when we arrived and we were shown a table in a slightly elevated position, not too close to the band. Our waitress arrived promptly, my wife opted for sirloin steak from the menu whilst I chose haddock. Unfortunately my dish featured rather more broccoli than I would have liked but my wife had no negativity about her steak, proclaiming it the best she’d had for many a year. Wine was reasonably priced so a good evening was enjoyed right up to when our carriage arrived. This is a very popular venue and our host was kept busy all the time we were there, catering for the constant demand for tables for two and up to a dozen or more students but no-one was turned away. Tables were moved, extra chairs located with exhausting regularity. Fascinating to watch.”

“Absolute gem of a find! Didn't find place in another pub for some beer and great food and ended up here. I've got to say, this is probably the best pub food I've had in the UK. Their steak burger, onion rings, fish and chips, and pie, are absolutely wonderful. Especially the burger - tender meat, soft bun. Each family member loved whatever they ordered. It also goes without saying, they had such friendly service and all the classic beers on tap. Highly recommended!”
