Good music, cozy environment. Small portions and relatively expensive. Great place for a beer, but not for lunch.

Showed up, after making a prior booking, to pub for a gathering of friends for dinner to only be told Chef sick no food available. Not apologetic and left us all in the lurch. No phone call to advise us either.

All looked well on entering the pub yesterday and ordered food at the bar. My husbands food and a bowl of veg was delivered to the table but 10 mins later I had to request my food. Food plonked in front of me with no gravy so requested that and explained the veg was now cold. Server actually went to feel it before taking it away and putting it in the microwave! She did deliver a fresh bowl after. Food was warm but not hot. Have just spent the night vomiting due to food poisoning (this was the only thing I ate yesterday). Will definitely not be returning.

When you walked in the pub was completely empty. Inside looks nice and cozy but the I tried was terrible. I ordered and beef and gravy and mash with Yorkshire pudding. What I've got was frozen food and the gravy was like water and its very greesy, plus the food was cold. The plates were dirty and some of them were broken.

Unable to give stars for above as when we arrived at 2pm we were refused food due to lack of it. Yet another table with 4 people were served behind us. Service was terrible as had to wait 10min for hot chocolate. And main hostess was abrupt, dismissive and had an aggressive attitude. Rest of staff did not know what they were doing. Would never go back again.

Old fashioned country pub, with well cooked tasty food at a fair price. Value for money, not pretending to be a pretentious gastro pub, and friendly service.

Driven past many times taking my daughter to and from university in Bath so finally decided to stop off and pay it a visit. It was a weekday late lunch so not very busy. Staff friendly and service quick. Food was what you might expect from a typical pub.

Haven't been here for quite a while and we were very impressed with the friendly atmosphere. The quality of the beer was very good too so we'll definitely make it a regular place for us from now on.

Stopped here due to the large advertised all day Sunday Lunch availability at approximately 4pm. We ordered drinks and asked if we could book a table for the evening, which we were promptly told they are too tired and are only serving food until about 6pm. We then decided to stay and eat straight away. The young waitress who appeared to be about 16 years of age and I believe may have been their daughter was very attentive and gave the appearance of a 'rabbit in the headlights'. The food was quite basic, the order was taken down incorrectly with my wife having to wait a further 15 minutes for her meal and we were then charged for someone else's meal. I'm assuming they were rushed off their feet due to the other dozen or so customers. This place looked the part, had all the makings of a really lovely and profitable location, but failed due to their poor service and lack of service on this particular day.

The food was basic but cooked well. The staff where really friendly and welcoming I definitely felt at home. But the building it self need work like the garden and the toilet let it down.
