We attended The Salamander for the first time late on a Sunday lunchtime. We were greeted by the amazing Natasha and her colleague Joe. Both of them were engaging and displayed great customer service skills. Natasha looked after us and gave us taster samples of some great drinks. We settled for a cider and the fantastic stout. We then ordered two Sunday roasts: one the lamb and the other the vegan. Both meals were truly great. The roast potatoes were exceptional and the gravy just the best. Could not find any fault with the staff, the venue or the food. A great traditional English pub serving fabulous food. Will definitely return shortly. Thanks Natasha and the rest of the team for a great lunch.

Came here for Sunday lunch after reading reviews on trip advisor and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely traditional pub, (very clean inc toilets) fantastic food and friendly staff. A lot of places state they are child friendly but this pub really was, we were seated so we had plenty of room for buggy and all our bags and a high chair was ready and waiting for us. The staff chatted away to my son even though they must have been very busy. They don’t have a kids menu but do a large and small roast size and the small was perfect for my son (baby shared his!). Thank you for such a lovely afternoon, I’d really recommend.

From the moment we walked in the door Jai was welcoming and informative. Very personal service. We had roast dinner- cooked to perfection by Amy and Alfie- who were willing to adapt to any personal preferences. Would definitely recommend you won’t be disappointed

Absolutely incredible place, amazing food and very friendly staff. As a celiac I always try and find somewhere I can eat in advance of traveling and this place was perfect, I had the dried chicken which was some of the best chicken I've had in a long time. My partner who is not celiac had a fish finger sandwich and it was huge, with locally baked bread. The staff were incredibly friendly, Gi behind the bar (sorry if I've spelt it wrong) ended up chatting to us for ages about different things. We left there feeling like we've known him for years. Absolutely incredible atmosphere food and service. 100% would recommend to anyone with celiacs disease or anyone who just wants some good grub.

I read many positive reviews beforehand but quite frankly, I don't think any of them do this place justice!!! We were given the warmest welcome by the general manager Jai from the moment we stepped inside this beautiful pub. Natasha, Jai and Gareth took great care of us, despite it being a very busy Friday night. Natasha is like a walking encyclopaedia of Somerset cider and her recommendations were excellent ? We ordered the fish goujons to start, then the ham and eggs and were recommended to order the special (bubble and squeak) and everything was utterly delicious ? The portions were so generous, so sadly we had no room for the pudding I was eyeing up (but I know for next time!) A huge, heartfelt thank you to all the staff for such an unforgettable experience! It was our first ever visit to Bath but you made us feel like locals ❤️ ❤️

We enjoyed a delicious gluten free fish and chip supper with a gluten free brownie for desert. Bonny was friendly, knowledgeable and our meal arrived quickly. Would definitely recommend this pub!

The main server was incredibly welcoming, informed, and super nice. I knew British folks were known for the manners, but my gosh was the main serve gentlemen excellent throughout my entire meal. He recommend a delicious dish to me and as a solo traveler, his great customer service really put me at ease. I wish I would have gotten his name so I could give him a shout out, but once you go in, you will know immediately who I'm regetting to. Will definitely return next time I'm in Bath!

Great lunch & service. We were seated on the first floor. Lovely food and service and our 2 year old grandson was made to feel very welcome. The toad in the hole on the specials menu was delicious.

Whilst having a break away in Bath, we came to the Salamander three times. Reason being, it’s amazing. It is a fairly small pub but more dining upstairs. If you want light lunch or Sunday lunch, they have you sorted. On the light lunch menu there is several sandwiches to choose from as well as a ploughman’s. All good quality produce. You can also choose off the main menu which is just as good. There is usually a special on each day on their specials board. Whilst we were there it was ‘toad in the hole’, which I had on the Sunday. I can thoroughly recommend. Sunday lunch was excellent with plenty of meat, gravy and accompaniments. Couldn’t really fault anything! Good selection of booze to choose from and really friendly staff. Can’t wait to come back again.

Great range of ales, all reasonably priced. Still the best door step sandwiches, again reasonably priced and one is enough to share between two if you are looking for a light lunch.

A really cosy and friendly city centre pub. Perfect for a pit-stop during a trip to Bath or for a really tasty meal.
