Took a friend for a 75th birthday treat, thought Wednesday lunchtime wldnt be that busy. Checked the website got there and it was closed..... 70 quid spent at wild rocket. Their loss!!

I love eating at Alex's Steakhouse bar and grill at the great escape!Have been here many times with friends and nobody has ever had a poor word to say, its regarded as one of the best steaks anybody has had in their life. No doubt its the best steak in Bridgwater, probably Somerset.The value for money is unmatched anywhere I've been in the world, its Michelin quality for local pub prices!!And the service is so amazing as well, such a friendly environment, Alex is a lovely guy and I'm such a regular his wife makes sure she has a lemon mousse ready for when I finish my steak.11/10!

Tried to book a Christmas party. They never pick up the phone and when I did get through, they said they would email me all the information, twice, and never did.

We were informed that the chef had suddenly left, so the menu was going to be much reduced in scope. As we were meeting a group of friends we decided to go ahead. Sadly only one other single person was in the restaurant, but the owner couldn't have been more attentive, the food was excellent and there was a wide choice of pizza toppings as well as burgers. The bar/restaurant is nicely decorated and modern, I hadn't been inside it for years. I would definitely encourage local people to give it a try.
