We stayed here for a local wedding and it didn’t disappoint.Whilst there is limited parking out front, there’s also an overflow on the opposite side of the road, so no problem. The rooms were absolutely delightful, well kept and looked after, with some award-winning art plastering the interiors, in addition to quirky bric-a-brac, which I love personally. The breakfasts were absolutely on point, with the owner very friendly, helpful and informative - thank you for the local walk recommendation!Overall a fantastic stay - around £115 each per night, but what you get is worth so much more.Rooms: Well kept, looked after and well equipped.Walkability: Local walks all around that prevent you from having to tackle the main road. Short walk to the pebbled beach.Food & drinks: Breakfasts were on point - large portions and cooked to perfection.

We live locally and stopped in for dinner. The food exceeded our expectations. Decent portions and high quality food, not pictured was the special pie which was also fantastic. Staff were friendly and attentive.

An amazing gastropub with refurb rooms in a 17th century inn, warm and welcoming staff, and the best, silkiest scrambled eggs for breakfast I have ever had!

Great pub. Wow food. Some of the best I've had in any gastro pub anywhere. If I lived locally , this would be my go to place.

Great food and lovely traditional atmosphere. Super service.Ideally located for walking especially Kilve coast. Very dog friendly; almost makes us wish we had a dog!

Booked for Sunday roast. Food, both quality and presentation was very good. Service a little slow at times but they were very busy. Staff helpful and friendly. Pub itself had a pleasant ambiance. Christmas tree and decorations. Warm log burners keeping it warm and cosy. Price reasonable. Will return. Definitely recommend.

From Bath and visiting the area for the weekend and what a treat to find this pub close by…just come back from the Hood Arms and had one of the best meals out we’ve ever had.Goats cheese mousse was phenomenal, the ribeye the nicest we’ve tried and fabulous triple cooked chips. Oh and let’s not forget tempura battered onion rings! ?. All next level.Lovely, friendly staff and owners who added to our enjoyable evening. Thanks to Lou for being warm, funny and interesting. And male owner (sorry didn’t ask your name!) was also lovely. Thanks for a fantastic meal and evening to the talented young chef and rest of the team. Will come back whenever we are back in the area for sure! ?

Genuinely one of the best country pubs we've stayed in. Faultless.Paul was a great host and took the time to guide us through the various walks available in the Kilve area. We got absolutely soaked during our walk and Paul upgraded our room for us to have the roll-top bath. It was a lovely touch after a soaking wet day and getting lost in marsh land....Food was first class, great new menu and a great selection of wine and beers. Breakfast was special - top marks.Overall it was a great trip, lovely area and the hospitality of the staff at The Hood was the icing on the cake. We will most definitely be back. Thanks all.

This pub is a total gem and is highly recommended as a destination for a weekend. The rooms and food are very reasonably priced but what sets this pub apart from so many others is the warmth of welcome from the owners and the fantastic staff. Room 6 has a lovely bathroom (with a rolltop bath) and the bed was super comfortable with superb bed linen. The only recommendation would be towels to match the bed linen. All of the food was superb (I had a great chat with the off duty chef who is clearly passionate about the menus/food provenance) and our dinner was superb. We actually had lunch (hearty sandwiches and triple cooked chips) dinner (grouse in a stunning whisky sauce) and a traditional cooked breakfast, all of which were excellent. We did a circular walk from the pub which took in the Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel, (the area is beautiful) and we stayed at the pub with our Cockapoo Indie who was made really welcome.

Great location near the Kilve Jurassic beach, plenty of fossil to find, just watch out for the high & fast tide.Really nice beer garden, good quality fillings in sandwiches.

Didn’t stay here but had the most wonderful meal . We went to a fine dinning experience evening , which was outstanding! The best food I’ve had in a very long time. The staff were great and the pub was clean and well looked after . I would definitely return .Food & drinks: Excellent!

Very nice rooms, with comfy bedding. Bathrooms were clean, some with a bath and overhead shower, others with a large walk in shower. The staff were amazing and very friendly. The rooms facing the front/road loose a star due to traffic noise. However all in all a very nice stay.

Visited here with my family celebrating my son's birthday. We all had a lovely meal cooked to perfection - most enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and gave excellent service. I look forward to visiting again soon.
