Held our wedding here Oct 2023 and it was perfect. Such a friendly bunch of staff and the venue is lovely. The grounds make for some great photos! Food was amazing. With the help from Jane and Paul the day went as smooth as could do and we really felt welcome! Will be back for a meal soon and looking forward to their christmas meals!

I came here to eat and it was wonderful, beautiful pond with a walk around the edge, the garden is absolutely stunning and has had alot of love put into it, they also have a gazibo which really adds to the overall feel to the garden. The inside was very nice, looks like an nice little cottage, the staff were friendly and very attentative, i chose to sat outside to enjoy the peaceful bright atmosphere and i was lucky enough to meet a lovely peacock ( believe the chap was called gorgeous george ) to which i found he was very magesic and made the place feel that much more beautiful! The barlady who served me my food was kind enough to put a feeding trough out infront of my table for gorgeous george so i was able to watch him abit longer and we had a pleasant suprise of the female peacock kate who came along to feed, i thought it was hilarous as george didnt seem too impressed to be sharing ?? comical moment honestly... the food was wonderful, i had the surf n turf steak and the scallops, the portions were decent but it was slightly pricey but i think it is reasonable considering how nice the place is.I would highly recommend!

We stayed here for 4 nights last summer and it was fabulous. Really welcoming, a good restaurant and a delightful garden.

Hornsbury Mill was the venue for my sons wedding in August 2023. I cannot praise the staff and the venue highly enough. They worked tirelessly to give us all the perfect day. The venue is charming, and we were fortunate enough with the weather to have the ceremony outside in a beautiful setting. The food provided was excellent, as was the service throughout the day. The attention to detail was exceptional. There was room for many of the guests to stay on site. Special, thanks to Jane who insured that the special day was perfect.

We have just had a perfect lunch here at Hornsbury Mill. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and a very high standard and at a good value for money price. The service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. After lunch we enjoyed a drink outside in the company of Gorgeous George the peacock and then had a walk around the lovely grounds. Absolutely perfect , thank you.

My partner and I had already booked a Friday night at a chain hotel in Taunton. However, my partner was so upset at its location and dank room, that I quickly searched for another venue and found this one near rural Chard. Paul greeted us warmly and we were so relieved to find somewhere at such late notice. The hotel is charming set in beautiful grounds with a working water mill (for demo purposes). We could hear the resident peacock (s) but didn't see them unfortunately. Room was lovely but the bathroom could do with a little TLC, the shower was poor and wi-fi reception not brilliant bit minor details really. Evening meal was excellent with Paul Paul finding time for a chat. Breakfast was amazing served by friendly Jane, (see my photo). I had mentioned to Jane it was my partner's birthday on the Saturday morning of our departure, and she brought in her breakfast with a candle in the veggie sausage and sang happy birthday! Nice touch. Parking outside reception is good. All in all a lovely experience, happy to return no more chain hotels for us!

Excellent stay. Had a lovely room. Staff were lovely. Stayed 2 nights whilst visiting the area. Had dinner there on both nights which was also very good. Very clean room/bathroom. Would recommend. Had a wander round the grounds and met the resident peacocks

We had two short stays in June 23. We found the hotel to be friendly with attractive and good sized rooms, and a varied and pleasant dinner menu. The grounds with the water garden are also well worth seeing. We would book there again if staying in that area and firmly recommend it.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful; we were given a ground-floor room which was appreciated due to mobility problems. We enjoyed a walk around the lovely grounds, which include a lake. Dinner was very good and the breakfast menu was very varied.

Great team of people, the food is lovely and the rooms are delightful. You wont be disappointed. The surrounding area is great for a morning walk and the lake is splendid to look over on a summers evening. Watch out for the peacocks :-)

What a venue! I recently just got married at Hornsbury Mill (20th May) and I can honestly say that Jane and her team are the most incredible people I have ever come across. I had no worries or stress with my wedding as it was all in hand and I had no need to! The hotel in itself is beautiful, the food is out of this world. Special thanks to Jane and Zoe as they couldn't have done enough for us and took my mum's Coeliac very seriously. We stayed in the bridal suite and what a fabulous room it is! So pleased with our stay and we will absolutely be back. Hornsbury Mill will hold a special place in our heart, always.

We had broken down in the layby opposite Hornbury Mill and wandered over for a look around/drink whilst we waited for the AA.So glad we did, beautiful place, lovely walk around the little lake and the staff (Jane I believe?) was friendly and helpful. We even took a booklet away in regards of getting married there. Also the peacock and peahen provided plenty of entertainment, just walking around the grounds waiting for any food scraps or brown sugar
