Crimchard Business Centre, Crimchard, ChardHidden away in an industrial unit in Chard is this amazing place! Had a wonderful meal with friends last night - we had the Teisyoku Menu which was fabulous. Every dish was so tasty and beautifully presented. Dinner started with Hide explaining his menu and a little bit about himself, before introducing Flo, his assistant who served our food. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Hide came to chat to us in between courses which made the whole experience feel very personal. There is a maximum of 20 places for dinner so the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming - but you have to make sure you’ve booked well in advance! And it’s BYOB so no worries about silly prices for bottles of wine! Totally recommended! We will be back ?

Curry house
3 High St, ChardThis restaurant is both a busy takeaway serving mainly Chard and the surrounding villages. There are about 10 spaces to dine in- House. Sunday and Thursday they have a special banquet night ( good value). I enjoyed Tarkha Dhal ( excellent flavour and quality(, a nice garlic Naan bread). My main dish of chicken Korai was fresh chicken not frozen with a rich spicy flavour served with Pillau rice. Great service very friendly gents. Cash only.

Domino's Pizza - Chard
East St, ChardNot sure what atmosphere you get from inside a Dominos bit the pizzas are always piping hot, and most of the time the pizzas are ready to collect on time. I don't mind a delay as its interesting watching the. Being made.

Wambrook, ChardThis is probably our favourite pub, we have visited twice to break our journey to Cornwall, each time has been absolutely excellent. We stayed in the same room which is always welcoming and cosy, super comfy bed and sofa. Attention to detail is excellent, personalised welcome message, home made sweets and fresh milk delivered to your door each morning as well as a larder of treats just round the corner from the room. Our meal this time was as good as it gets delicious lamb and seabass, there is a great atmosphere in the pub and the staff are super welcoming and friendly. Well done Team Cotley! We will be back as soon as we can!

Five Senses Café & Restaurant
19 Holyrood St, ChardOutstanding. Large space, with a garden. Close to parking. Accessible entrance and WC. Licensed. Large menu with something for everyone. Portuguese food is not dissimilar to British food. I had their beef stew and it was not only delicious I felt stronger for having eaten it.
I have since returned. Tried a full English: top marks. Reasonable quality and inexpensive yet still did not take that long to reach the table. This cafe is an asset to the town.

We had a rare date night back in August, so we decided to try somewhere new. We were unsure on the menu so sent Tasquinha a message and they were so friendly and welcoming right from the start, offering to make something vegetarian too. That same warmth carried on when we arrived, as the staff, the owners and even the customers chatted to us like we were old friends. ??❤️
The food was delicious and really hearty, and the owner even took the time to show us round the gardens and his purpose built pizza oven for the summer. The whole evening had a lovely, relaxed, European feel, and the huge glass of wine for less than £3 was the perfect finishing touch. ?
A wonderful restaurant run by genuinely kind people. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Village Bakery in Chard is a staple for so many people, not just for its delicious sandwiches but as a place to meet others, enjoy a friendly conversation and feel genuinely welcomed. It is not a big chain, it is a small local shop where the staff know your name, and they often pop into our shop too which makes it feel even more connected.
The sandwiches are fantastic and you could go every day for a month and have a completely different combination each time. They also stock and sell a wide range of fresh bread, which is always popular. There is always a lovely cake or a hot drink to add to your order, and the prices are very reasonable too. Debbie and her team are all so kind and cheerful, and I genuinely look forward to seeing each and every one of them.

11 Church St, Winsham, ChardSunday lunch was really good and the service was quick and attentive. All home cooked food with plenty of vegetables. Desserts were delicious, especially the lemon roulade. Coffee is also included. All at a very reasonable cost. Very happy.

49-51 Fore St, ChardWe unexpectedly found ourselves in Chard on a Sunday, needing to find somewhere for brunch.\nChard is typical of so many towns nowadays, where the high street suffers from shuttered shops and limited eating possibilities, especially on a Sunday, so we headed to The Cerdic, not really knowing what to expect and we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant was clean and presentable and the food was tasty and well cooked, with goods portions and very well priced.\nFrom an uncertain choice, we were very happy with our decision and would happiy return. We were obviously not alone, as The Cerdic was quite busy by lunchtime and the majority seemed to be locals.

Haven't been in a long time.
The thing that really surprised me is that they had normal lactose free milk. Every café etc I've been too only have oat milk or soya milk. Being gluten intolerant also I can't have oat milk and I'm not supposed to have soya either so that leaves me with coconut milk. These 3 cost so much more to buy also. So actually having normal lactose free milk was really nice.
I had a wonderful piece of gluten free Victoria sandwich. So tasty.
My sister was with me with her daughter and friend and they had lunch with me.
Everything was lovely and served with a smile. Will have to go more often.
The menu is very good.

Live music, pool table and darts. Skittle alley / function room and the food is homecooked fresh to order. This place has really been turned around in the past 2 years. Well done guys. ?

20 Boden St, ChardWe call into Whites on our way to Dorset, sometimes on our way back as well. Each time we receive a welcome greeting and superb fish and chips. Our fish and chips are usually eaten in a quiet layby or country lane as we leave Chard and we count ourselves so lucky to have found Whites. Thank you so much, will be back soon.

Bath House Hotel & Restaurant
28 Holyrood St, ChardWe had such a lovely time at The Bath House. The food was absolutely delicious — you can tell it’s cooked with real care and passion. Karine was outstanding, so friendly and attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Ron, the chef, is fantastic — every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. It’s such a pleasure to find a place where both the food and the people make you feel special. We’ll definitely be back!

The Haymaker Inn
Wadeford, ChardWe had a two night stay at The Haymaker as we were attending a wedding in the area. The venue is just what you would imagine a village pub to be; very welcoming and friendly. The room we had was comfortable and quiet and represented very good value for money. The food was well priced and portion sizes (as other reviews have mentioned) were very generous. We would happily book again if we are in the area and highly recommend The Haymaker.

Hornsbury Hill, ChardHad a wonderful carvery here on a Sunday. The quality of the meat and the veg were second to none. Had a walk around the grounds afterwards and admired the pond and ducks. Well worth a visit A☆

Bishopswood, ChardLate booking for Sunday lunch. Lots of veg, all very tasty. Not much beef sadly, and it was rather tough, but it was late in the afternoon. Lemon cake was lovely. Ordered a couple of flat whites - first time with cocoa sprinkled liberally on, not something I would order again!! In all, lovely place, good service and would definitely go back.

11, Bartlett Park, ChardFantastic local ale. One of only 2 places in chard i will entertain the thought of going out to. Johno will usually great you at the bar and recognise you even if he's met you once. Great music playing quietly enough that it doesnt interrupt your conversation. Quite often a food truck will have been organised with a rotation of 6 or 7 different cuisines, and these are not your average food trucks. The food is phenomenal and washed down nicely with a beer or 3. During the summer, the shutter is raised and chairs and tables put out catching the evening sun. Its usually heaving from 5 so make sure you get there early. Only wish is it was open all weekend but as this is a microbrewery im just thankful that they put in so much extra work to be able to open on a friday for us all. 100% would recommend

Lordleaze Hotel
The Lordleaze Hotel, Henderson Dr, Forton Rd, ChardWe went on a weekend break, hotel is lovely and extremely clean. Very friendly, kind and professional staff in all areas of the hotel. Food is amazing. Have a few selections of local ciders, cozy bar/ dining area . Only one challenge we faced on the bank holiday breakfast, short on staff in the kitchen and restaurant. We were a group of 12, orders were delayed for over an hour for some ,, service was kind of lost and I guess they ran short of eggs, sausages and some other stuff. Otherwise lovely hotel ,beautiful location and friendly staff.
The Electric car charges are only for decoration, it does not work.
