Bit of a trek to get to down some lanes that those not used to them might find a little daunting, but at the end of the journey is a gem of a pub. Lovely service and a good menu.

Just returned from a mini-break at The Cotley Inn. What a find! The team were brilliant and very committed to making our stay memorable. Couldn’t fault anything. Nothing was too much trouble. Great job, well done Ben and your team! Your awards are well deserved.Rooms: Our room The Den was a great size for us and our Golden Retriever. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower room offered lots of hot water with good water pressure. Great fluffy towels too. Loved the guest pantry and the dirty paws shower. Thoughtful additions.Walkability: The Inn is in the depths of the Blackdown Hills so walks are endless.Food & drinks: The best food EVER! And the team are clearly passionate about giving guests the best dining experience. Loved the beautifully fresh continental breakfasts too.

We stayed here overnight and had dinner in the pub. The food was fantastic and the room was lovely, comfortable and quiet. The pub has a great atmosphere and is in a very picturesque location perfect for walks or just admiring the view.

First visit today and was very impressed. Simple menu but every dish a winner. Welcoming staff, warm interior with log fire and casual atmosphere. Worth finding as off the beaten track.

From the moment you enter the bar entrance, Maddie is there to greet you and welcome you in. We were there for our anniversary and enjoyed a delicious dinner, served in the most friendly yet professional manner. Food is locally sourced and imaginatively cooked by Ben. We then stayed in The Nest- a converted stable bedroom which was cosy, comfortable and with loads of luxury extras. Nespresso machine, bath robes, fluffy towels, gorgeous bed, and a "pantry" of extras provided on the house. Breakfast was a varied buffet of mueslis, seeds, homemade preserves and jams, fruits, cold meats, cheese, fruit juice , and toasts. No full english but you can boil an egg or have plenty of anything there. And of course teas and coffees cheerily served by Maddie. She and her team are fantastic and what makes this place tick. The Cotley Inn is a real treasure and deserves every success.

An amazing place to stay and incredible food. The attention to detail was brilliant, and made the whole stay feel like a real treat. The rooms had everything needed and lots of little luxuries, and were quiet and cosy. We also loved the pub's ethos of locally sourcing food, and had the most delicious meal! Thoroughly recommend!

Such a lovely place and the food was amazing! Also stayed over in the perfect accommodation. Breakfast was fabulous and the added touches to make your stay so comfortable were spot on.

The Cotley is such a special place - the location alone is picture perfect. But the pub itself has a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in through the front door. Maddie and Ben and their team provide exceptional service - if you’re sitting at the bar, having food or staying. We were a large group for a special family meal and every effort was made to make our evening perfect. The food was sublime - every person in our group was blown away by their meal. Just delicious. And a wonderful, impressive menu, with fantastic local produce and meat. A few of us stayed the night and the accommodation was stunning. Incredibly cosy and comfortable, beautiful interior to the rooms, and lovely personal touches (a little welcome note and mince pies for example!). Not to mention the access available to a pantry for food and drink! No surprise that the breakfast was incredible too. We could not fault the Cotley nor recommend it more highly. Child friendly and dog friendly to boot. It’s literally heaven on earth!!!

We had an absolutely perfect stay for my friend's 60th birthday. The room was super comfortable with everything you could need. The dinner was faultless and the breakfast lovely too. It's a great place to stay, eat and explore beautiful Dorset.
