Had a small cod and chips, with curry sauce and plain jumbo sausage. The batter was unbelievably soggy, not one bit of crunch in it.Curry sauce is not the sauce you would expect of a chip shop curry, more of a sauce you would make a madras with. Not meant for chips.Sausage was good, don’t really know how you would get a sausage wrong. However if you can’t get fish right then you can’t call yourself a “fish bar”See attached picture of my soggy beige battered fish.

A classic chippy in the heart of Cheddar Gorge. Clean as a whistle, tidy toilets, and a goodly number of well-spaced tables in a well-lit dining area. Best of all, the food and service are terrific. Generous portions and a kind and efficient staff make it a great spot for a quick stop to assuage your hunger after a hike or long drive.
