On another evening at a different time of year, the Cider Barn experience would be very different and I would try it again on that basis. But on a dark March night it was quite dead ... just a few locals and a few tourists. Of course there's a decent cider selection, and almost by accident we discovered an ale was available even though not on the board (??). The place lives on pizzas too, but not wanting those we opted for what turned out to be a very dry scampi/chips, and a dish which I can't recall and which while tasty and certainly homemade was pulled out of a fridge or freezer by the bar staff and almost certainly microwaved.

I chose this at the last minute on TripAdvisor being unfamiliar with the area. To call The Cider Barn "unassuming" would be entirely appropriate and I think they'd be pleased to agree. The attitude of the team and the friendly service make this place remarkably welcoming. The name of the place sets the scene. They have a large range of ciders on hand and I did indulge. The food menu isn't extensive, but the pizza was outstanding! I had the "Meat feast". It was pleasantly spicy and absolutely loaded with meat and cheese. It may b e a long time before I get back to Cheddar, but I would happily visit again.

The cider barn is an absolute gem, we stayed at strawberry fields lodges just behind the cider barn. We ate and drank there most days. Jason and his crew are absolutely brilliant. Food is varied and very tasty but Thursday is steak night trust us you do not want to miss this. Jason collects the steak locally then preps them before cooking to absolute perfection

On holiday in the area popped into the cider barn for some food & a drink, sat outside as it was a lovely evening & got chatting to the locals, lovely people & we had a laugh with them. Food was delicious & plenty of it for the price, don't understand how some people are saying they felt uncomfortable here, we really enjoyed ourselves & will definitely be back when next in the area

A great find on a rainy day, a very large group of us turned up unannounced from the nearby campsite and the staff looked after us really well. Lovely food, especially the pizzas. We stayed for a few hours and we were made to feel welcome and unrushed.

We came here with our little girl while on holiday in the area. It was a relaxed and fun venue to while away a couple of hours. We enjoyed drinks and pizza. Would be a great place to have as your local.

This place was busy and is clearly popular with locals, however we didn't receive the warmest reception. When my friend went to order a drink she was advised by someone else not to as it "tastes like piss." There were some dogs inside which were on a lead, but they barked almost constantly and were snarling aggressively towards my dog who had done nothing. I love dogs but these dogs made me nervous. I enjoyed my drink but the atmosphere made us all feel pretty uncomfortable.
Stopped after getting some Chedder strawberry's, the wife had a pint of Lilly's pineapple cider and I had a pint of the North street cider which was a very refreshing pint, this place reminded me of the Broken Spoke in Austin real local and a tad on the quirky side

The pizzas were nice but the the setting is pretty rough. It felt very dirty - I get they are going for the relaxed vibe but it just felt like it needed a good clean.
