Food was incredible…been numerous times and never had anything other than great food. We had two dairy free currys that we’ve not had before…special fried rice and chapati. Both curry’s had loads of flavour and where nicely hot…no casseroles here, proper tasting curry only! Highly recommend….defo the best curry house in the area. Quiet but nice authentic music and no hassling in terms service…evening flows at a nice pace.

Had been to this restaurant today. The response from the staff who was sitting in the reception was worst. There was no smile or welcome gesture from him when we have entered. We have started to order some food from the menu, the same person said to us we need to order at least one main course and a starter per person. He was not letting us to choose what we need. He was having a angry face throughout the conversation. By looking at his rude behaviour we asked him are you ok to serve food for us. He has asked us have you been to any restaurants before? Finally we had to walk out from restaurant because of his worst behaviour towards customers. This is the worst experience I ever had in UK Bangladesh restaurant.

This is not an Indian restaurant, staff treats customers awfully. Expect everyone to order minimum 3 course, if you don't expect a very rude behavior and be ready to answer a question 'Have you been to a restaurant before?'

Food was bad. Rushed cooking. The Base sauce had no depth, not a patch on the Coventry and Leicester Indian restaurants I'm used to. It was cheap, but I couldn't finish it. Also I ordered lamb and they brought chicken. Naan had garlic granuals sprinled on it, not fresh. Advice write order down, cook the onions and garlic down in ghee until v.dark, add spices, add base gravy. Simple. I can tell this was rushed, not resturant quality.

Service was quite poor- our waiter seemed quite stroppy even though they were old enough not to be. I had to source napkins from another table. Thankfully not us but I have never seen ‘doggy bag’ boxes given to a customer for them to dish up! They were unceremoniously put on their table. Taking into account (still rather frosty) interactions made it clear they were regulars this almost made it all the more shocking. The joke was them then adding a tip onto the bill. Won’t return when we’re in the area. Food was okay; nothing special.

No music either, and the place needs an update too, as it looks like it’s stuck in the 80s. We visited while passing through so wouldn’t visit again but if I lived locally I wouldn’t use the place, maybe better as a takeaway.

I've had multiple takeaways from Spice Cottage now and its been great every time. They even gave me some free dishes the last time I ordered. Delicious, fast and not over-priced.

We as family on our visit to Cheddar were excited to find an Indian restaurant. But our family was disappointed by the cold and arrogant treatment by the waiter yesterday. He charged (more likely demanded ) us £45 (35 for food and 10 service) without any bill. He refused to give bill the when asked for. Definitely not recommended
