Cafe la Strada is a refreshingly good example of a well run independent café. The food is better than good and the service outstanding. The Spanish almond cakes are probably the best cake I've eaten in many years. The food is really well prepared and cooked on site. The cleanliness exceeded my wife's high requirements and frankly I'm contemplating going back just for the cake and coffee.

What a superb cafe, been visiting this lovely oasis for about 5 years now. The sausage sandwiches, full English breakfast and the eggs benedict are all top class. 10 out of 10 every time.

I was deeply looking forward to my breakfast - and very very underwhelmed when it came out.For the price point I expected more portion. I didn't like the eggs, they tasted rubbery - my toast was cold, the bacon was cold, but the suauage was nice. The place is cosy and seems to be popular, the coffee is enjoyable and average price. The cakes looks nice.I would come here again for a cake and coffee but I won't be ordering cooked food again.Feels like they are trying to be all artisan with the food rather than provide a decent portion and meal!Edited: meant to give 3 stars not two overall

Coffee was very good. Waited absolutely ages for it. Seemed to be alot of people stood behind the counter, it looked quite unorganised. Ordered some sausage rolls also, waited so long had to get them to go- on reflection it was comical- like the scene from Love Actually when Rowan Atkinson is putting the gift in a bag- tooook soooo looong- I could feel time standing still.Asked for HP twice and then eventually got ketchup- anyway coffee was very good.

A really lovely pavement cafe. The best coffee shop cakes I've ever had. The almond cake, brownie & orange polenta were soooooo good.

Excellent coffee by Illy, lovely cakes. There are seats outside to sit and watch the people go by on this historic little lane called Cheap Street. I enjoyed falling into conversation with Sir Ed Davey about the LibDems domination in the last by-election.

When we visit our daughter's in Frome we frequent this cafe most days. We love the coffee, food, atmosphere and staff. We come from Peterborough so sadly our visits are not weekly or monthly but we always make a b-line for it. I am gluten free, they have an amazing almond cake I adore, plus a fruit slice. We take our grandchildren there for a brunch meal. Really lovely. Thank you, look forward to our next visit.
