Just arrived in frome about 6 hours ago...took a room in the Blue Boar, best £55 I've ever spent, an older lady has just spoken to me, I think she was local. Being from just south of Manchester, I couldn't understand a word she was saying... she seemed to be in charge of local bear mat throwing team...Great fun was had by spectators and competitors. 10/10

Proper pub with no thrills. Only one ale hence the slightly low score. Has a separate area for the pool table and a good selection on the juke box. Friendly bar staff

Nice friendly local ideally situated in Frome Town centre. Good selection of beers and cider, friendly service and very popular with the locals. A good pub.
Went in for breakfast. Too embarrassed to leave when we saw the drinkers in there at 1030 in the morning so ordered a breakfast which was awful: cold tomato, beans and mushrooms and the sausage bacon and hash brown had obviously just been reheated in a deep fat fryer.n

The vibes were fantastic. Karaoke at full throttle. Had a great chat with a fella sat in the corner. Great late night pub.

You know when you walk into a pub on a Winter's Saturday night and it's warm and cosy and the windows are steamed up. The sounds of laughter, conversation and background music let you know it's not going to be a quiet night but one where you'll end up chatting to strangers and having a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Had a lovely Sunday roast, good value and plenty on your plate, staff we're lovely and polite, the landlady was lovely and made us feel right at home, recommend it to everybody, what you call a traditional English pub, like going back in time.
