Driven past many, many times and the Car Park is always chocca. The Ploughman's Lunch had been recommended so we decided we should "give it a go"First recommendation - BOOK A TABLE. We were lucky and got the last one.Very surprised at the Specials menu. Some great sounding food on there, but stuck with the reason for being there and we're not disappointed. Some excellent real ales from guest breweries to be had as well. Looks like I could well be a designated driver for a few sessions!Ploughman's was excellent. Very much enjoyed the Chutney.Great place a real gem on our doorstep.

Lovely old world pub, warm, comfortable and welcoming. Service was quick, four of us ate, I ordered double Berger bacon and cheese with chips, unfortunately the two Berger's were over cooked and hard. I should have sent it back but didn't. Chips were wonderful. Would return again.

Lovely pub with great atmosphere and roaring fires. However, I had the beef stew this time last year and it was really good, so I ordered it again yesterday only to be disappointed as it was thin and the beef was fatty ? I won't be ordering that again !
