Food is of an average quality with a premium price tag.Sometimes the food is excellent and sometimes the food can be poor, it all depends on when you visit.Nice outside seating area for an outside drink of a summers day

Cold food served on cold plates.. not good especially when it is fish. It was sent back to the kitchen and came back the same. Not good. Refused to pay for it. Peas, well I think they were peas, in a small pot and had been, I think, microwaved so they looked like chaff and were all crumbly. The fish seemed to have been precooked and then warmed up - big mistake with fish. The chips, well, just cold. It was all served on a very cold plate. Think chef needs retraining... How on earth did they get the fancy star rating?

The pizza base was burnt, my partner gammon was really salty, air con blow heat into my face. Not

They sat us in a freezing conservatory even though the cosy part was empty. The food was awful, burnt pizza couldn’t cut and the gammon was extremely salty and average at best. The waitress saw us twice taking our order then giving it to us with little to no conversation then a 10% service charge for the bare minimum was paid. Rubbish and disappointing, never again.

Good local restaurant with frill free quality food at an affordable price, although 12.5% gratuity which seems the norm now is a bit steep. Attentive service with more waiting staff now on the pay roll!

Staff were very young and either inexperienced or hadn't been taught how to interact with customers, they werent checking if everything was ok or if we required more drinks. Food average, expensive in comparison to other local restraunts.

Beef inedible. Tough. Roast potatoes hard. Beetroot with roast lunch!!! a first got us!! First time back after 15 years. Will not be going again. Only ones in the conservatory.

We have previously visited The Centurion several times over the last few years and up until this visit, service had always been perfect. This visit was our wedding anniversary lunch and we were left extremely disappointed with the inattentive service we experienced. Food was as usual excellent but other than the very helpful and friendly head waitress who greeted us and showed us to our table and then wasn't seen for the rest of our visit, service was non existent. Our main server was a scruffily dressed young man who clearly had little to no training in waiting and serving or in customer service. The young lady waitress who also served us was a little more helpful but we still were largely ignored and forgotten about throughout our visit, which ended up being nearly three hours long because of the unacceptably slow service. The restaurant wasn't even busy, there were only two or three other tables there and the two above staff weren't able to cope. Ambience was also disappointing. The background music was at first pleasant and at an acceptable level of volume which did not interfere with conversation, but as our visit went on became louder and louder, and we ended up being subjected to Oasis and the Spice Girls. Luckily by this point we were near the end of our meal and didn't have to endure much more loud music. The ladies WC in the main reception area was out of service and so the disabled WC had to be used instead. This WC room was horribly dirty and hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was no receptionist on duty and no other staff available to mention this to but we were leaving anyway. Overall it is a great shame that because of the poor service on this visit, we are unlikely to return to what was once one of our favourite restaurant.

The restaurant is very good. The service excellent, looks out on to the golf course which is lovely. Food is good and present well. Highly recommended.

You wouldn't think it would be possible to mess up Cod and Chips but they did. We'd already sent one started back for being overcooked (fried calamata), then 2 x Cod came out, the batter an indescribable dark colour and very flat. We ate it rather than wait for another 2 out of 4 meals came back. It was overcooked and dry. I did appreciate the point the manageress made that we should have complained at the time, and she did knock money off- quite right too when you're also charging London prices for it, but I didnt appreciate being harangued at some length by her to that effect. I was also mystified by the explanation that the batter had turmeric in it.

Our regular venue for Sunday lunch, always great but sometimes even better. Friendly helpful staff and pleasant surroundings. Jerry

Great option for a catch up with friends - been here a number of times now and food is consistently good.

I had the vegetable curry. Absolutely delicious if a little hot for me. Waitress brought me some yoghurt. Excellent!

My parents recommended this place as the Parkinsons meetings are held here. Staff were well trained, polite and very helpful. Sunday lunch was excellent and I especially liked the roasted vegetables. Beautiful conservatory with lovely views. We will be back soon.
