I can't say very much as we went there for a lovely buffet lunch after a funeral. The food and staff were top notch.Food & drinks: Lovely buffet style food that we had for a light lunch/afternoon tea. Lots of choice, sweets, savouries, cakes, etc endless supply of tea and coffee. The bar was open for alcoholic beverages.

This is our second stay here. Unfortunately it didn't come up to last time in the summer. We had issues with interference on the television, the floor in the loo was a bit up and down and we were placed right beside a cupboard that made a continual hum. The hotel is beginning to feel a little tired and the service not as swift as our previous visit.Rooms: Feeling a little bit dated.Nearby activities: Plenty you see and do at Minehead and area

Its a shame that the overall standard has gone down quite a bit. Cleanliness is not anything like it was, the Jacuzzi was still out of order (this was the end of August and it was out of order during our previous visit in April), gardens are now shabby. We have been visiting since 1986 and the decline is quite noticeable now, cream teas as part of the inclusive deal are a thing of the past. The emphasis is notably Coach visits, the car park was virtually empty when we arrived because the place was basically filled with the occupants of one coach. Everything was geared around them, even a singer in the small bar each evening, Mr Lawrence would be having a fit.

Stayed for a night, room was shabby and tired but people were all excellent and really trying their best to be of service. Pool nice but changing bit was also shabby. It could be a really nice hotel just needs a bit of money spent on it and a tin of paint opened here and there. Garden was lovely. It wasn't cheap so the poor room quality knocked the review down.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel for my husband’s birthday. The hotel gardens are lovely. Comfortable rooms and very quiet. Lovely breakfast, both continental and English with plenty to chose from. Nice they the hotel is dog friendly so our furry friend could come too. Would stay again.

A lovely hotel on the slopes of Minehead, a world away from Butlins. Great location with fantastic breakfast. We went for the dinner option and we're very glad we did - fabulous four course meal, tasty and beautifully presented. Excellent service too.

This hotel is possibly the worst place I’ve ever been to. The entrance hall is rather dirty and then you have to use the stairs to get to the room, stained dirt and we’ll just leave it there for this part. The room was dirty, dust on the bedside lights that had been there for quite a long time. The bed had marks on the sheets and was not the most comfortable place to lay down on. The funny thing was that the wardrobe was on the tilt and we smiled at the leaning drobe of Minehead. The bathroom was actually the cleanest part of the room but the shower was let’s say lethargic and it took an age to have a shower. We walked around to take a look at the rest of the place, it has a pool, wow, the hot tub water was grey and the filter on the side was covered in green algae so we didn’t use it, the pool had let’s say stuff floating around in the water, nope and the steam room was covered in black mould. Breakfast was disappointing uncooked bacon cold beans and an attempt at scrambled eggs that sadly failed, we ate out I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries and stayed in many hotels but this was really really disappointing and when on the last morning they decided to mop the floors in the hallway with bleach, the smell was awful and the idea of many of the older guests sliding around was just horrifying. If conclusion the pictures do give a representation of what it probably was like many years ago but the neglect and lack of maintenance and cleaning has made this place somewhere to avoid.

The hotel was in a prime position, far enough out of the town to have no noise issues, but close enough for a comfortable walk and back. The grounds itself were beautiful (although it was raining) and plenty of parking. The receptionist (also general manager) was super friendly and helpful, showing us where our room was & helping with access for my disabled mother. She also showed us where the pool was. The room was brilliant, spacious & great views. The standout pool, jacuzzi & steam room were a great edition to the hotel & were a bonus for our stay. The only let down was the breakfast, a lack of flavour in the meat & portion sizes were poor. However, an all round great place with incredibly helpful staff.
