We have been staying in Dulverton for two weeks and had three visits to Tessa's Tea Rooms, in Dunster village. The food is the very best we have tasted for some time. All three visits we had the Bacon, cheese and onion relish panini, with Clasdic loaded Fries...YUM! The fries (Skinny) had melted cheese on, then sour cream and chives, then Bacon and fresh chives. We will be making both of them when we get home. The staff are so nice and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We will be back in 2024, for sure.

After walking with my dog, who was also welcome I stopped for a breakfast sandwich which I believe to be the best breakfast sandwich, I’ve ever heard I have since ?

My husband and I went here for breakfast on the Sunday of our holiday in Dunster. We were welcomed by very pleasant young staff members who invited us to take a table and then order food & drinks from the menu at the serving bar. My husband had the traditional English Breakfast and I had the Egg Bacon & Sausage Sandwich. Our lattes were served very swiftly and the fresh and very plentiful breakfasts followed shortly afterwards. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were keen to know that everything was OK with our food and if there was anything else we needed. We went back to repeat our experience on the Thursday which was the last day of our trip only to discover to our huge disappointment that for some reason the cafe was closed that day - but it will be our first breakfast stop the next time we visit the village!

They staff were welcoming and friendly. I am vegan and asked for just a sandwich and they were more than accommodating! They made me a houmous, falafel and chilli chutney sandwich - it was so good! The bread was so fresh! We sat in the garden which is really pretty and fed a visiting Robin. What a lovely place, great food - looking forward to going back!Thankyou :)

Walked down from Dunster Castle on a monday and not much open; but found this tea shop with courtyard at back through an archway.Raised area on synthetic grass but pretty as originally front courtyards to people's homes.Small vintage shed shop back of garden worth a browse.Quiet and Robins.. pied wagtails flitting around for crumbs.Cakes unusual combinations. Most pleased with my falafel board at 12.95.Portions good..service friendly..no rush.Ordered from front of shop..so need someone to keep table as no back entrance although food served from back.Vegetarian options: Falafel board..see picture good value for money..see photo

Lovely little cafe near the castle. A wide range of vegetarian options with a nice outdoor seating space. I would return again

Beautiful and relaxed venue with a wonderful outdoor space featuring a very friendly Robin! Breakfast was top notch, high quality ingredients make all the difference. Visited multiple times during our Dunster stay and it was excellent every time.

I went with my partner to Dunster and we stopped here for lunch. We shared a Panini and Ploughman's for lunch and it was delicious. Perfect amount of food and more than pleasant staff. We will be returning.

A lovely welcoming tea room that does a proper pot of tea! Hot, plenty of milk, generous cups, with extra water. Our table had a mixture of salads, pies and tea snacks. These included the largest Belgian bun I’ve ever seen. All well presented and served swiftly with a smile. All the better as there didn’t seem to be anywhere else in Dunster serving at 4pm on a Saturday.Great to see a lot of gluten free options and even a gluten free vegan lemon grove cake of which not a crumb survives.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten-free options. Vegetarians and vegans catered for.

Four of us went there yesterday. It was pouring down rain outside, and the place was packed. My mum was looking for bathroom after a long ride to Dunster, and she asked the old lady at the counter if there was any loo in the tea shop, while my husband and I were browsing the cakes right in front of the counter, about to order something. And this was the moment when the young girl, standing behind the counter, asked (more like shouted) rudely if my mum was a customer. No 'excuse me' no 'please', just straight 'are you a customer?'It was obvious that my mum and I were in the same group as we came in together as a group, and we were about to order! There was no need for such a brute question!I understand they need to make sure that the facilities are only used by customers, but she could see that we were literally standing in front of her at the counter browsing, waiting to order, and we were the only group of Far East Asian coming in as a group so it was so obvious that we were together, and there was no need to chide a customer like this. I don't know if this was her attitude towards customers or if this was her attitude towards Far East Asian. The old lady and the young boy working there were lovely tho, especially the old lady! She guided my mum to the door and showed her the way to the toilet! Hence I didn't reduce the star to 1 or none, because they were nice, just the young girl was the problem.Food and tea were lovely too.

Lovely, welcoming tea shop/cafe in the heart of Dunster. Accept dogs too. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Delicious food and a good selection of hot and cold meals.
