Unfortunately the Turkish evening food wasn't anything really special. The first course was different and tasty but the rest was not value for money and not very tasty. It was on the bland side. The pub itself was packed so they must be doing something right but it was a little tight for space. If you lived local and knew everyone I would think you would be pleased to have it on your doorstep.

Lovely cozy pub. Obviously well used by the locals so great atmosphere. Very friendly welcome, lovely food and drink. Wish this was our local!

I have been a customer of the Brit for 20yrs.On Sunday evening, I met a friend in the Brit. After my friend left I went and sat at the end of bar. Within a couple men started fighting. In the confusion I got knocked on ground..When I saw the landlord and asked about tolerance of brawling at the bar and being responsible for the safety of other customers. His response was simply....it was an accident....no apologies!

Jolly little pub that appeared to be hosting a team competition from rival pubs when we were there which added to the previously quiet atmosphere. Possibly pool as there was a spacious pool room. Although the interior was old it was very clean and tidy and reminiscent of village pubs of bygone times. The drinks choices were varied and reasonably priced. Although we didn't eat the menu looked quite simple and wholesome with vegan and gluten free choices but sadly missing a pie. Definitely worth calling if you are in the area or passing on the walk to Dunster. No food service on Mondays.

Great old style pub. Nice outside area. Away from the crowds & excellent roast on Sunday. Good gluten free range too.

We had booked the function room for a christening, there was plenty of room, They catered for us a mixed group inc. vegetarians and a lactose free option too, absolutely lovely food, the roast potatoes were the best! The entire time they had looked after us. They have a well ranged bar with plenty of options on ales and wines and a fantastic beer garden out back. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something simple and welcoming.

What a great pub! Just spent a week in Minehead and visited this pub a number of times. The staff were amazing and friendly, the beer was top notch and the food was awesome. Wish it was my local!!!

After a walk around Dunster Castle and nearing the end of our day out, 3 friends were looking for a pint, a meal and a place to rest before going our seperate ways. I picked The Brittania from Maps as it was 6 mins away. When we arrived at around 4.30, the bar was quiet and we were made welcome. Within half an hour the bar was full of locals enjoying good beer and company, it was a pleasure to hear and see a pub so busy and full of life. We ordered food which arrived promply, very reasonably priced and tasty, the waitress was friendly and helpful and we felt welcomed. The garden looked spacious and tidy and the pub itself felt genuine and traditional. No gimmicks or garish modern updates, just a good 'old fashioned' pub! I would happily visit again. Well done to the staff, you've got a great place there!

Very good service and lovely atmosphere. The only negative is the state of the garden…there were dead flowers in the baskets on the wall and cigarette butts all over. I feel it is sad because it always used to be a very pretty garden and a real asset.
