A little cramped and noisy, but this was more the clientele rather than the establishment! The meal and service were excellent. Look forward to visiting again!

We visited in January around 13:00 for a Sunday Carvery - a fantastic little pub - low ceilings, open fire ? The food was exceptional and we will be visiting again!

What a great pub this is. Proper old fashioned pub, lovely atmosphere, decent beer and food. What is not to love? Locals very friendly well worth a visit. There were some travellers using the car park but they weren't a problem. We will be back.

Jen and Dan were really welcoming, responsive and accommodating from the start. They offered us use of the function room with a sit down meal and ensured we had private use of the room aside from the toilets. They were great at answering questions via e-mail and understanding when a couple of party members dropped out due to illness, accommodating a last minute swap. They also kindly understood that teaching in the local area it wasn't appropriate to have students working the same night and made sure we were happy and comfortable in this respect too. We had our own staff on hand who brought our food promptly. Everyone had a wonderful meal, I had the chicken which was cooked in a delicious mushroom sauce and was very tender and tasty. The Christmas pudding was also excellent - I am normally a bit unsure of brandy sauce as I don't like spirits but this was very subtle and tasty. They were attentive and made sure our guests were warm enough throughout the evening as the skittle alley was intermittently a bit chilly (not uncomfortable though, it was quite nice for dancing). It was very nicely decorated for the festive season. Everyone said what a nice time they'd had - we shall be booking again for next year.

We were told this pub has the best Sunday carvery so we checked it out, arriving just before 12 noon (opening time). The car park soon filled quickly. The pub is a traditional Somerset pub, staff were friendly, the carvery was excellent with plenty of choice and obviously very popular with those that know and, now that we know, we'll definitely be back.
