Pub food but boutique-ish presentation and portions.I opted for the steak and tangle foot pie, which was great. The cabbage was lovely and the mash was good. The only disappointment was the portion could have been slightly bigger for the mash and cabbage. The atmosphere was good and the place was full.We went on a Tuesday and it seems this is the weekly bingo night and a lot of the tables were booked from 7pm onwards, so keep this in mind.

We made our first visit yesterday for drinks and food, and were amazed by the quality of service and food. Nothing was too much trouble and the person who originally helped us had his coat on ready to go home, but stayed on for quite some while (with his coat off!) to ensure that we were looked after. We later discovered that he was the GM - obviously he sets the tone for the whole place. Food was lovely too and we'll definitely go back!

We ordered lots of small tapas dishes. That said the food wasn't great. Chicken wings all bones. The cheese straws were undercooked puff pastry sprinkled with herbs and hardy any cheese or flavour. Awful really. Cheese straws should be like brandy snaps but made of Parmesan cheese. The extra chips we ordered were chewy & cold. And the deep fried scotch egg was overcooked. All in all not a great first time experience. Pay before you eat so we just eat what little we could & left.

It was Saturday evening we'd been around the nature reserve and then marina for a walk, there was a chill in the air and we were ravenous! We went into a few places but no available seats, we were about to leave to get a takeaway for home but decided to just try H&W and were pleasantly surprised to find an available table for 2 in a cosy corner. We immediately ordered their porkbelly special on the recommendation of our waiter, and it didn't disappoint...the portions were huge (thankfully, as my partner and I were starving by this point) and delicious.I have been there before for a Sunday roast, and it was ace. It's definitely a great option if you're looking for yummy pub grub.Vegetarian options: There are at least 2 good veggie options under each section of the menu.Parking: There are a few free spaces right outside but it's not hard to find on street parking in the evenings or on a Sunday.

Sorry to write this as the server that helped us was really accommodating, but the food was a disappointment.Limp salad, bland roasts, tough meat, rare but tough unable to cut. We had already paid before the food arrived, a member of our party complained about the food but the server said there wasn’t much they could do. We were there for a birthday meal and it was disappointing to say the least. Won’t be returning as it’s the 2nd bad experience.

We went to the bar. I ordered 2 drinks. All good so far. I got out a £20 note to pay and was told quite curtly. Oh we don’t except cash. The gentleman then pointed to a sign. That I had not seen. He was quite dismissive. Saying we have not taken cash for 5 years and nobody around here does. Almost as it was beneath him. I tried to explain that whilst not against card. Customer’s should have the choice. As I was with a lady. I decided to pay on card. Had I not. I would have left the drinks on the bar. As soon as I payed he just walked off leaving me talking to him in middle sentence, not even offering a receipt. I definitely won’t be going back. Terrible rude service.

It’s hard to know where to begin. The first major point is this place is MASSIVELY overpriced! A beer and a rose was £18! A single gin and the same rose was £21! I don’t know how they justify the prices. Tiny salads are £18 and more for burgers etc. And yet despite being located on a gorgeous marina all you get if you sit outside here is a view of a load of cars in a carpark! So where does their overinflated self valuation come from? It’s a mystery! We made the mistake of ordering the charcuterie board. Talk about DIY! We were charged £17 for this. We had to go back and ask where it was twice when we were told there was a wedding upstairs of over 100 people and they were ‘struggling to cope’. I pointed out to them that they should have warned me of this when I was ordering so I have the choice of whether to still order or not. They shouldn’t be telling me this when I’m having to chase the food. This charcuterie board had just four razor thin slices of bread which was more dry than crusty and unappetising. No cheese, about 4 olives in a container which was majority oil, ruining the olives. A few wafer thin slices of mediocre salami and prosciutto and some leaves were the only other items. £17!! So, I really would avoid this place. You don’t get any of the benefit of other venues with an outdoor spot actually overlooking the water, the service is poor, the food is incredibly disappointing and I don’t know if I’ve ever visited a more overpriced pub. I just cannot understand how they’ve valued themselves this highly. Nothing was above average and much was below! You’ve been warned! -AN

Came in for 2 meals and drinks. Great food and service. Recommend home made chicken Kiev. Didn’t book on a Thursday, but heard it’s best on weekends.

Nice location and like the design and overall feel of the place. Very nice outdoor seating overlooking the Marina and always enjoy a few drinks here. Haven't had a main meal here yet, but if the Starter 'nibbles' (BarBQue Chicken Wings with Triple Cooked Chips) whilst having a few drinks is anything to go by, it won't be bad. Great portion size and very delicious.

I was looking forward to going to this restaurant next week but having parked the car to make a reservation, we’ve received a fine of £100! There were no notices in view and parked there for just a few minutes. Rang restaurant and was told it happens to lots of customers and it’s an outside company. Feel totally gutted! Needless to say, we will never go to this eatery.

I found plastic In my teapot. Good job I checked before putting my tea leaves in there. Put me off drinking my tea even after they brought me a new pot. Safe to say it’s put me off coming to this place. Which is a shame because we have had some lovely meals here.

Really nice find at the marina. Especially impressed with the high customer service and friendly attitude. Treated as a regular but never been here before!! Good food, good real ale. Hits all the buttons

I had had a bad day- bank scam so no credit card, and couldn't charge my mobile phone. I went to H & W to get a cup of tea- only to find they did not take cash! I was visibly upset and the wonderful young man serving me went to the manager and said he would like to pay for my cup of tea! I also commend the young lady who earlier had tried to phone my family on my behalf ( they were on a sailing course so not available) Both of them were kind, friendly and very caring. I cannot thank them and H&W enough. We ate there on our first night and returned after the course ended- its a fabulous place and I loved it. Thank you!
