Amazing weekend break at The Litton. From start to finish we could not fault anything. The decor is lovely and cosy, and every little detail has been thought of. The bar and food area is welcoming and comfortable, there are lots of options for food and drinks (we loved the game pie!), and most of all we have to highlight how professional and welcoming all the staff were - it really was a delight to stay and we hope to come back very soon!

Very pretty pub, having been lots over the last few years I do often leave feeling that I did not get value for money. It’s very expensive and the food is average, wine is nearly the price of a bottle per glass and the staff although never rude are often unenthused slow to serve, especially if you’re seated outdoors, they’re all quite young so perhaps just lack the experience to deliver a level of customer care one would expect of an establishment charging what they do. The location, decor and ambiance, however, are great I’d go back for the vibe and an evening drink, but for food I’d look elsewhere where for better value.

The most dog friendly pub we've ever been to. So friendly, there were dog biscuits waiting on the table ready ?The service and setting here is second to none. The food is also incredibly tasty, generous portions (something that's getting increasingly harder to find), and seasonal ?The order:Hoisin duck tacos - £7.50Beer battered haddock - £11.50 (small portion, which wasn't small at all!)Sweet potato and chickpea massaman curry - £14.50 (large portion)Chicken, leek & smoked bacon pie - £17.50? This place is absolutely gorgeous. I loved everything about it, from the decor to the food and the waiting staff. I am coeliac, dairy free and veggie so eating out can be a real nightmare but not at The Litton! They were super helpful and knowledgeable and I was even able to eat dessert, which is a rare treat as I also don't eat chocolate so the usual gf brownies don't work for me. The pie I had was delicious and I could also have the gravy. I got to have 2 scoops of the most delicious sorbet (raspberry and mango) and the extras it came with (shortbread crumbs) were also gluten free, which made a nice change. I felt so safe eating there and that really means a lot because if I get glutened it is really rather unpleasant and takes a good few days to a week to recover from so being able to relax like that when eating out was a real gift. The Litton have a map of a little walk around the reservoir so we took a stroll and that was totally gorgeous too. The written instructions seem a little out of date so I would advise just looking at the map but it was breathtakingly gorgeous and had some fun stuff on the way like a little pool to paddle in and a double swing.Highly recommended - a perfect day out!

Called in for lunch, met by staff Kat and Vicky, both very pleasant and efficient. Food and drink, excellent....good size portions, gammon really nice and chicken and leek pie rammed full of filling....shame we were too full for pudding..would highly recommend.

Staff were very welcoming, friendly & helpful- went the extra mile & left an anniversary card on the table for when we arrived which was a lovely touch. Afternoon tea was delicious and very generous- we had to take some home with us! The pub its self is beautifully decorated, quirky and such a lovely place to visit. We will certainly be back! Thanks to Cat & Vicky for your service during our visit.

Unfortunately we were left waiting for a drink after the bar staff served a friend who we were before. On being served we sat at an unreserved table outside, which was not laid with cutlery. We were sat down for no more than five minutes when we we asked to move as a party of four had just arrived an requested that specific table. We finished our drinks quickly, left and will not return. I'm guessing the thinking was that they would be spending more money than us so we were not treated as a valued customer. This was a shame as I ate there with three friends only three days prior; the food was good and the staff were friendly. I'm guessing they were satisfied with our expenditure on that occasion. Myself and my wife would have returned regularly but not now.

Lovely country pub, but too many lovies there. Prices are inflated to suit the gentry and townies who frequent it. Beers are from smaller breweries, and not many have heard of them.

If you're looking for authentic country food and exquisite cocktails, look no further than this charming little gem of a restaurant. From the moment you walk in, the warm and friendly staff will make you feel right at home. When it comes to great food and cocktails, this restaurant hits the spot. The food is delicious, and the cocktails are just superb –making it the ideal place to unwind and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Highly recommended!

Can’t comment on the rooms but The Litton is an amazing little found that we often stop in on the way back from the airport. Great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere, all set in what might be a late medieval ale house! Great find!Food & drinks: Great selection of good food and a nice array of drinks on offerNoteworthy details: Very historical, great atmosphere!

When we arrived I was shown to a beautiful room. However, I quickly realised it overlooked a courtyard with music and lots of people chattering. There would be no opportunity to relax pre dinner or perhaps even sleep if you prefer an early night. There was no warning about this when booking. I asked to move rooms and was moved to a more simple but quiet room reasonably quickly. My honest opinion is that the rooms are overpriced by quite some margin. At £150 a night I would expect far more. Despite this our experience of all the staff was great. They were a really great team. But would that be enough to make me book here again? Sadly not.

We had to wait a little while for somebody to come and take our order, it was quite busy so this was expected. The food was nice, we both had katsu chicken burgers, however the chicken was a bit small for the bun and could’ve done with being slightly larger. The drinks were reasonably priced, which is rare so this was a bonus. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we did get overcharged by accident which was quickly rectified by the staff, but mistakes happen, wasn’t a massive inconvenience. The outdoor seating area needs a little bit of TLC.

Lovely location, nice and quiet, nice country walks.Rooms are a bit on the pricey side compared to others in the area, but location is great and the restaurant is very good, staff are also very friendly and helpful.Walkability: Nice country walks nearby, stunning part of the Mendip AONB

Visited with friends for sunday lunch. Great service and the lunch was in my top five best sunday lunches. Delicious roast beef with all the trimmings and a side order of cauliflower cheese. Will have to visit again. Stunning. 5* The pub is cosy and has lovely gardens with the River Chew running just behind.

Just had the loveliest birthday lunch here!We sat out next the river on a comfy table with blankets available if needed. The staff were fabulous and made us feel relaxed & always on hand if we needed anything. Staff were all upbeat and smiling nothing was to much for them!Food was wonderful my friend has a gluten intolerance and the waitress brought her out some gluten free toasted bread to have with our crab without us even asking. The kitchen altered our main so we could both enjoy a Cesar salad. We were comfortably full unfortunately no room for desserts but they looked incredible and we will be returning to try!The litton was beautiful inside and out & truly hidden gem! Thanks to all staff
