Bowlish House is an absolutely beguiling country house hotel nestled in a quiet corner of Somerset. It is filled with art, light, and warm family-friendly vibes. If you are looking for the true country house experience in Somerset I can’t recommend Bowlish House enough!Rooms: Clean and charming. Had an excellent time!Nearby activities: All that Somerset has to offer is at your doorstep: from Wells to Bath and beyond!

The room was nothing like the pictures, when I told the lady at reception that this was the case , she accused me of being racist and her partner chased me out the hotel screaming abusive language at me and that I should leave ! I was beyond shocked as I didn't mention anything about anyone's skin colour , my comment was about the room . Furthermore they chased us to our car . We left in shock and left .

The charming property together with host Nicola's ability to make us feel so at ease and comfortable are the main points to mention. The character of the house, even the creaky floorboards, was very appealing. The effort to make our stay so personal particularly as it was to celebrate my father's 80th birthday was immeasurable. Beds exceptionality comfortable, lovely hot shower, breakfast was amazing and our dog felt like he was at a home from home, made a friend and shared a sausage at breakfast. This was a true gem of a place to stay, with a very attentive host who couldn't do enough to please us.

Unfathomable Beauty! Stayed here for three days in September. Absolute find, spiffing views, unparalleled service, historical opulence. From booking to stay the experience was first to none. Owners looked after me all the way throughout and on site the Sterling service continued right up until departure. Great food, amazing rooms, and in matched aesthetics! Garden makes Kew look like a small park! 100 per cent recommend and will come back!

Rooms needed renovation. The staff seems a bit inexperienced.Breakfast was OK.Overall it has potential but it needs a bit more work.Definetely not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Nicola was a fantastic host, very attentive and extremely welcoming, especially to our dog Dougal. We really enjoyed our stay at Bowlish House, most of all the decor, breakfast and lovely family that live there.Definitely worth a visit.

I recently stayed here for two nights during Glastonbury festival, and it was delightful! My room was lovely with stunning decor, along with the rest of the house, that made me feel like I was stepping back in time. The full English breakfast was absolutely delicious, and Nicola, the host, was incredibly welcoming and couldn’t do enough for me. I'll definitely be booking again when I'm in the area. I would highly recommend Bowlers House for a delightful stay! Rhia x

Lovely rooms and fantastic breakfast. The host went out of her way to accommodate us. Letting us in late at night then serving breakfast first thing before everyone else. Fantastic host . Only down side was the floor boards were a bit creaky but this is what you'd expect from a beautiful historic home . Excellent stay exceptional breakfast
