Family luncheon celebration, good food but personally I should have asked more questions about allergens.

We all had Sunday lunch, which was delicious. Very generous portions and wonderfully pink roast beef. The staff were careful to check that we were all happy with rare beef when we ordered it and kindly served some slightly more well done for one of our party. One of our party was in a wheelchair and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here on Saturday, the food was lovely and the service was just as great. To the couple who surprised my boyfriend and I by contributing to our bill, you made our weekend away even more special and we were overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness - thank you so much! (Hopefully you see this) x

The atmosphere was fab, the place was full even though it was mid Jan, and the food, wow!! We had the mushrooms on crumpets with truffle butter to start then one of our party had the lamb which which looked divine with creamy mashed potato, my husband and I had the steak, which was so soft & succulent you could cut it with a butter knife. The portions were just right and everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were nice and friendly too. We will be back

Do the team actually taste the dishes they serve? Sun dried with breads and charcuterie starter (£9) was nice enough, but it was assembled rather than cooked. Sea bream with Asian stir fry veg (£18 ) was cooked properly but the rice bland and under-seasoned. The stir fry vegetables were cooked properly, just boring, no zing, zest, no spice or heat, it was so, so dull. I didn’t even bother eating the rice. My dessert was grilled pineapple with coconut sorbet and a ginger crumb (£8) - the whole thing tasted like shower gel. I can’t believe anyone tasted this dish before putting it on the menu First, the pineapple should have been fresh, caramelised and sticky and hot off the grill, but if not then warmed at least, not fridge-cold. The sorbet tasted synthetic and it was soapy. This could and should have been amazing made with coconut cream and real coconut. A few slivers of fresh mint would be perfect here. And the ginger crumb, instead of being a buttery gingery Parkin crumb or oaty crumble was instead a hard smashed biscuit, tasted cheap and overall was horrid. I didn’t finish this either. With wine our bill was £109 for two, which is galling when at this price it’s reasonable to expect it to be as good or better than you could make yourself. Nothing was bad enough that you’d actually complain; eg the fish was well-cooked and texture good but overall, flavours were disappointing. The front of house man was professional and on his game, our waitress was good too. The only thing that needs to change here is for the chef and management to taste what they offer and question- is this the best it can be? Because dining out is a treat, and should be special.Vegetarian options: There one vegetarian option

The menu was fairly small but very varied and all extremely well done. The food was interesting, well presented and extremely tasty.... " compliments to the Chef!" Sadly, the Bank is not local to our home. Many thanks to all who contributed to our wonderful meal, the best I have had for ages.

Eaten here twice recently - I thought the first time I was just unlucky with wrong order but now I’ve been back and realised there is a problem with the quality of the food and service. The manager is very over the top, shouts at you when taking your drinks order and comes across as very arrogant. Waitresses were rude and dismissive. Forgotten drinks, cold food, beige and bland plates of food, and wrong desserts delivered. All in all not a good experience and will not be returning. £9.50 for a bowl of soup that was cold! For the price point, we expected better.Vegetarian options: Beige

An amazing find in Taunton. Friendly staff. Great wines. Great service. Tasty food. You don’t need to be central for a good meal. Go off the beaten track and you will find The Bank. You will not be disappointed

Finding somewhere good for Sunday lunch has got more difficult as many restaurants are closed, however the Bank does a very enjoyable lunch at a fair price. The service is excellent you get a generous portion of vegetable and the main and starter dishes are really top quality. It has become a regular event for us and we hope it will be able to continue its good work,

A really fabulous roast chicken dinner. Meat and vegetables cooked to perfection. Reasonable price too. A bit of a wait for the meal but it was very busy and most certainly worth waiting for. Can't wait to visit again next time I am in Taunton.

Sunday lunch with family.I really don't want to listen to Boyzone, Take That, Donna Summer and other radio 2 chart poppers ever, especially over a family birthday lunch for an 80 year old!By 1pm you were out of chicken and pork on a roast lunch Sunday !Mediocre / slow service, and was the Service charge automatically added to the bill!Poor. Gloomy atmosphere with dark grey walls and nothing to break it up. Needs a revamp... and staff training.

Superb. Had an excellent Sunday lunch here today with the family. Very fair prices, delicious food, lovely decor, great atmosphere, and the service staff upstairs were a credit to the business.
