Fantastic local pub, had a lovely Easter lunch with the family. The pub has a great atmosphere and friendly staff good for family and children. The roast was very good and well flavoured. Highly recommend!Kid-friendliness: As it was Easter the staff had put on an egg hunt and film for the kids, and seemed to be making a lot of effort to welcome families.

Pity it’s not just down our road. Good Sunday lunch after a mucky walk- and welcomes dogs.

Sunday lunch. Pat is the chef and came out to find out from his customers how he and his team were doing.Excellent roast pork, chicken and gravy. Carrot was very good as were the parsnip and Yorkshire pudd. Cauliflower cheese and potatoes were good. The chocolate and peanut torte was very tasty without being too sweet except that the peanut could’ve done with being a bit softer and the chocolate a bit more gooey. Service was very pleasant, prompt and good. Seems like it was a new team starting and therefore were very good, in our opinion. Huge promise. We’ll definitely go again.Parking: Alongside the pub.

Went with friends for my birthday, the food, service and atmosphere were all brilliant. Had the bangers and mash, and they were some of the best sausages I've ever had (everything was delicious so it's hard to pick a standout item). They were also very dog friendly. I will definitely be returning.

After waiting 10 minutes to get a drink then had to go & get a menu even though we had booked a table . 45 minutes later the chef comes from the kitchen to say not all there order had come he had chips & bread !!! He did rustle up a charcuterie board and cheese which was enough for 2 not 4 . Asked for coffee afterwards they don’t do coffee . £12 for a glass of wine . Dreadful experience from start to finish.

With its new management and head chef (Patrice Carroll), we'd heard rumblings about The Lamb & Flag so had to make a trip down for a Sunday roast. We had a hearty beef roast with the most incredible veggies and side of cauliflower cheese. The BEST roast I have had, period. Following the main, we indulged in a locally sourced cheese board, a decadent chocolate and peanut butter tort, and enough pints to please a small army! Staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Atmosphere was warm, jovial and friendly, with a large sign that read: "dogs, muddy boots, and families very welcome". 10/10 we will be coming back.

Recently opened under new management. Owner was incredibly friendly and helpful - incredible ambient atmosphere and amazing food. Would definitely recommend the Sunday roast!

We stopped here for Sunday roast ( roast only served on Sunday) we had issues with the drinks at the beginning and lack of staff did not help, food was good and large portion. But what really let down our meal was the flicking lights at the tables, a problem with the dimmer meant we did not want to stay long. It’s a shame but I have to give a 3star but that’s all I can give. I’m sure if we were seated down stairs at a quieter time of the day/week it could be a 5.

Went to the launch under new management last night. Sausage rolls were available then tasting dishes of mushroom and olive tapenades, tuna tartare, steak tartare, salmon mouse, gravalax and cured salmon. New menu with GF and vegetarian options about to appear. Enthusiastic new bar and kitchen crew. Looking forward to their Sunday roasts. Good crowd in last night so best of luck to Patrick and the new team.Vegetarian options: Available

Strangest experience at the Lamb & Flag! Firstly, looked on line to see the menu prior to deciding to eat at the pub. Prices seemed reasonable on the online menu £12 for a burger, ham egg & chips etc. On arrival at the pub was shocked to see that the price was on average £5 more per item (a substantial difference) - but unfortunately was with a friend treating them for their birthday and so could not simply say "oh this is beyond my budget". Then advised that a certain item not on the menu and when I jokingly said they should knock some money off the price the chef came out to say that they were "closing down the following day" and that he and the waitress would "be out of a job". When I mentioned to the waitress she did not confirm this. Just very Twilight Zone. Not sure I will be returning. The food was delicious but not worth the price being charged and definitely not market-related for the area or the pub.

Had a great meal and time at this stunning Inn. It's been a pub since 1705.Just found out it's closing down...... Can't believe it, really needs saving for the local community and surrounding

We came in for a steak, as heard it was a great place, the trip wasn't to badThe Girl behind the bar was charming and served us promptly.Tho it was busy (even for a Friday!) We were shocked that this young person was running the whole place by themselves!Despite that had a great time and would encourage more people to visit this gem (if they had a more staff working , possibly management??) , it would be be in our top 10 places we have visited this past year !Thank you Keira (I think) for making us so welcome!
