Popped in Around Sunday lunchtime and had such a great surprise. Delicious food and lovely welcoming staff. Wish I’d taken a photo of my meal. Will be back asap

On a cold December Monday my partner and I stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe (restaurant) in Watchet harbour. If you don't know the seaside village you might easily miss the East Quay complex of a handful of shops and a restaurant. We didn't have high expectations of a café by the seaside but as soon as we sat down there was a noticeable buzz about the place and for a Monday, out of season, it was quite busy (always a good sign). The menu had some really good vegetarian options plus it was interesting without being pretentious. Just a good, solid selection of foods, drinks and snacks.I had the Muhammara Chickpea Stew and my partner just fancied chips :-) I can honestly say that I have never eaten such a pleasing café meal. The stew was delicious and the chips came in with truffle oil and aioli + parmesan were heavenly. They obvioulsy love their vegetarian / vegan cooking and they clearly buy quality ingredients. I would bet money that the hummus was home made as it was amazing. All this for a very reasonable price and no price hiking at all. Thank you for making our visit that day as perfect as it could be. I hope to reproduce your recipe at home some time!!! I wonder if you'd share your recipe :-)

This was one of those suprise finds during a short visit to Watchet. We stopped here for lunch after visiting the art gallery next door. The food was absolutely delicious. Very fresh, healthy and creative, with loads of interesting flavours. Both of us had cabbage dishes with pulses. They do a great spiced hot apple juice ('chair') too! The staff are delightful too.

We had a very nice time here about two weeks ago! The location is very unique, the food as well. And it tasted amazing. My mom and I went for the pasta of the day. Each table getting a complimentary jug of still water was also a nice touch, you don’t see that often in my home country (Germany). If we ever go to Watchet again, we will surely stop by :)

Really pleased we came across this cafe. Wonderful choice for those of us who are vegetarian coeliacs, as well as the general vegetarians. Highly recommend the courgette and halloumi meal, with the most delicious chips on the side. Chocolate sundae for dessert a delight. Wonderful staff, incredibly helpful and nice. Quirky space. Reasonably priced. Couldn’t ask for more. Will return.

We stopped for an afternoon break after a long walk. Had a couple of delicious spiced chai lattes in the lovely cafe. Also tried one of their cakes which was very good too. The service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere in the cafe was nice and the music (not loud at all) was excellent. Will try and get back for breakfast as the menu for food looks great. Really glad we stopped by for relaxing break here.

Excellent choice for environmentally aware people with mostly vegan and vegetarian dishes. Friendly and unpretentious with inside and outside seating in a quirky but fantastic setting. We stayed in one of the pods and had a 10% discount. Loved it.

Love the brunch here - mildly addicted to Turkish eggs now. The team always go out of their way to look after us.

Over priced and very average. Not what we expected for breakfast. £2 for any extra items. Could do better. Especially as I doubt many people come to this area! The prices aren’t attractive!

We visited this restaurant because all other pubs and restaurants in Watchet were close… mid June 2023. We chose the Red pepper and fennel puff pastry tart, after more than 35 minutes wait the dishes arrived. What a disappointment, a pale and insipid 5cm square of puff pastry with a few pieces of red pepper and a very strange jelly like substance that I suppose was the feta - we assumed this may have been vegan feta because real feta does not turn to jelly when cooked. There was precious little flavour in this or the over cooked potato salad. This dish was not a worth the £11.00 charged. Regret I didn’t think to take photos.

We were very warmly welcomed to the restaurant - it was our first visit. The menu was very tempting. We chose a chicken and chick pea dish and a roasted aubergine one. Service was very swift. The food was heartwarming and tasty. We would definitely like to return and explore more of the dishes. Coffee was excellent, the music was great and the atmosphere was laid back. We really enjoyed ourselves..

East Quay is somewhat of a beacon in an otherwise baron Watchet town centre when we visited on a windy February day. You cant miss the odd and colourful collection of units that make up East Quay in the marina, a community led project and at its heart East Quay Kitchen serving up sublime Middle Eastern style food with warmth and dedication from a friendly team. All of our food was fresh and lip smackingly delicious!
