We stopped in on the way back to Bath, friendly and welcoming pub, beers looked good and plenty of non alcoholic choices. Dog friendly which is great and water was available for the dogs. We stopped for food mainly and glad we did, we had chicken burgers and a spicy burger, clearly this pub knows how to serve burgers and chips, everything stayed together, very nice tasting and not full of fat so very welcome, the chips (and I’m not a chip person) were fantastic, don’t know what they did but great! There is steak on the menu and burgers, it’s a different menu to the run of the mill and it works, I like it… allot!Certainly a good place if your local or just passing like us. Thank you.

Hands down the best pub in Wedmore. My girlfriend and I were staying nearby and were lucky that our first night was Wednesday steak night at the pub. The friendly landlord is very passionate about steak - both cooking it and eating it! - and we shared a delicious, huge tomahawk steak sourced from a local farm.He also offered excellent local advice for our interests, namely hikes and walks in the area that someone visiting might not come across online. You can tell the pub is well loved by locals (who were very welcoming!) and it has a great atmosphere. It was also a joy to see Max, the pub cat, make an appearance later in the night. Highly, highly recommended - especially if you're lucky enough to be in the area on a Wednesday!

We were camping so wanted a down to earth local pub with good food and this is where we went Limited menu but we had steak and chips sat out in the nice garden and it was really excellent at a reasonable price for steak ! Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Popped in on our first night in Wedmore. I had the burger with delicious blue cheese and hubby had a chicken burger. Food was good, beer a suprise... good suprise for a dark beer drinker and nice wine. Good to see a local pub, with locals in it. Good food, good service, no complaints.

Amazing local pub where us two Canadians ( Jim and Sherryn ) were welcomed with open arms. Great burgers , wonderful wine and met the cutest little black cat called Max. Wonderful chat with proprietor Alex on the two nights we were there. We joined in on Trivia Night first night which was so fun!! If we could rate this pub ten stars we would Sherryn and Jim , Oakville Ontario

Asked for steak medium rare, came well done. Speciality salmon burger just fishcake in a bun, very dry. We did tell you when asked the food was only ok but you both declined to enquire further. I don't class a fishcake as a speciality burger, it's just a fishcake. We were asked twice how we wanted the steak cooked and it still was well overdone. Your toilets could do with a clean too.

We absolutely love The New Inn! We stayed in Wedmore for a week and this became our go to pub. Alex and Emma were awesome and couldn't be more accommodating. We chatted with Alex at length each time we were there. He regaled us with many a story and declared his affinity for"Timmies" when he found out we were not only from Canada but from Hamilton, the birthplace of Tim Hortons. This was exactly the type of pub we were looking for, friendly, local and with good basic food. The scampi and fish&chips were great and my husband had a steak and said one of the best he'd had. One afternoon we just went for a pint abd ended up chating with the locals who tried to explain the game is cricket to us. Loved the whole experience, make sure if in the area to stop in, we'll worth your time. Oh, and say hi to Max, the pub cat!?‍⬛

Proper pub, landlord & lady very friendly. I didn't want chips so the landlord asked if I wanted a salad instead. Prices were reasonable and delicious
