Chose to stay at The Swan after finding them on muddy stilettos, and following on instagram for a while. The bar and restaurant has a lovely boutique style to it, and the staff were very nice, however we walked away feeling very disappointed after our stay.We informed the hotel that we were bringing two dogs, and most places we go to always put a small touch in the room, whether that is treats, dog bed, or a bowl. Guests would really appreciate this if you were to do this.We had dinner that evening, ordering the focaccia, burger and the braised chicory. The burger were very average, and my vegetarian dish was literally two halves of chicory in a bed of tomato sauce, not even sure where the black quinoa was, or if it had been left out. For an AA rosette restaurant, I had high expectations, but this was very bland and quite the opposite. We had issues with the room and the radiator not turning off, which was not good for the dogs or us. We ended up having to change rooms at 10:30pm as the wide open windows and fan in the room wasn’t helping. When it came to check out, we were presented a dog ‘goody bag’ to say ‘sorry’. There was a tag on the bag saying ‘enjoy your stay’, which I’m assuming may have been what was meant to be in the room at the start of the stay, so this was more of a kick in the teeth.Eventually they did deduct our drinks and the dog charge off the bill. They sent us our invoice as an attachment to a email with no wording to apologize, or explain what they had done with the bill. All in all we did not have an enjoyable stay, and would have had a nicer time staying at home without spending over £200.

Warm welcome by staff, clean and very presentable room, although dog friendly doesn't have that wet doggie odour which is great. Loved the complimentary toiletries. Food was fresh and tasty and service with a smile. Would happily return.

Was appalled that this business is cashless. Service charge automatically added even though only 3 of us. I hope that the staff actually get the tips. I had cash with me and they wouldn't accept it even though it's legal tender. WiFi is often down in this neck of the woods and I urge them to rethink this policy.

Comfortable well appointed pub/ Hotel. Spacious, comfortable room with flat screen TV. Heating control in the room which is always preferable. Staff friendly and efficient. Good quality food at reasonable price but the menu a little restricted. Real ales on offer as well as keg beers and lager.

Chargrilled burger besteld. Yeah right....

Unimpressive all round: expensive food, not very tasty, very poor service.

Ate there after visiting a nearby nature reserve. Probably the weirdest fish and chips of my life. Dry fibrous chewy fish in a coating that was near impossible to crack with a knife and felt like day old croutons in the mouth. I could not eat most of it. And I am not someone who leaves food on the plate, even if tasteless. No one came to ask the customary "is everything okay?" either so I couldn't even ask for another thing. Just left after eating the chips, which were good to be fair. But not worth another visit.

A fab meal, sea bream with frigola so fresh, hot and well cooked. A very welcoming pub with classy decor and warm on a cold night!

We really enjoyed our stay here - 3 nights in one of their large rooms. Room was indeed large and very comfortable, nicely decorated with claw foot bath in the room and separate shower and WC. The rooms are above the pub, which is really fantastic - the food is exceptional and a good mix of interesting dishes and gastropub staples. Drink selection also excellent. Have been to quite a few similar places and I would say the thing that really made the Swan stand out was the quality of the staff - all really friendly and efficient. Couldn’t fault this place for a short break in the Somerset countryside. Glastonbury and Wells and both close by. Oh, and the Swan is also dog friendly,
