Lovely little pub popped in for a drink before our coach

Nice old pub, plenty of character, quite busy on a Friday night but staff served as quuckly as they could. Lots of space past the bar away from the live music. In the summer, lots of outside tables too. I even managed to find the ladies loo which used to be the original jail cell!

Delicious burger and great service. Lovely atmosphere and authentic. Great ale to have with my meal! Truly enjoyed ourselves.

Met my wife here 50 years ago today. So we went back for lunch with our 2 friends who brought us together. Perfect

We visited on Saturday lunch time 16th December, the lady serving at the bar was very abrupt and we witnessed the same approach to other customers, when we ordered a second round and asked for extra ice it was like we had asked to have the drinks for free, such a shame as lovely pub we visit regularly but felt the young lady is perhaps not best suited to hospitality or would benefit from some additional guidance.

We were travelling from Glastonbury to Bath and stopped here in Wells for lunch. The staff was super friendly! And the food was excellent. Nice salads accompanied our sandwiches. And they had 3 nice ciders on tap. Great spot - would return!
