Called in here on the off chance of a table. They managed to find one, service was a bit slow but they did have a big party in but I must say it was worth the wait. The food was fabulously

We chose to go to The Nog Inn because of the previous reviews. We weren't disappointed. The 4 of us all had such good meals and the staff were fun, attentive and very efficient. The stalls were week cooked and the Pork Belly was the envy of the table. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and we would definitely recommend going here for reasonably priced and excellently cooked food. Thankyou

I love this place so much and live in awe that somewhere with such a tiny kitchen consistently produces such superlative food. Three of us had the venison and chestnut casserole and it didappeared at a rate of knots. Well done again to the Nog team!

We visited the Nog Inn on our way to Stourhead and had a lovely evening. The food was delicious and the waitress was really friendly and made sure we got our desserts quickly when we had a bit of a rush at the end. We were sat right by the fire which made it super cosy on a cold wintery evening. Would highly recommended!

Beautiful, clean & spacious rooms where they really did think of everything. Stunning full English breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff who assisted us with our early arrival, & taxi to the race course. The kitchen was shut on Sunday evening but we were informed early on that we could bring takeaways in. Restaurant is open the rest of the week. A really enjoyable & comfortable stay.

Food was delicious, the ambience and design of the homely Inn with log burner and comfortable decor is a lovely home from home, the friendly staff that are welcoming can't do enough to make your stay a memorable time. I can definitely recommend.

A perfect proper pub run by a real landlord/husband and wife team! We were looking for accommodation to visit The Newt (12 mins drive away). The Nog is right in the centre of Wincanton with a small carpark opposite. The room was big, bright and airey, beautifully renovated with a huge modern walk-in shower. Great bed, linen, toiletries, tea and biscuits. It ticked all the boxes. I just wish we had stayed there for dinner rather than travelling to Bruton as the food looked great.

Me and my wife stopped here for lunch, I had the double cooked belly pork and it was probably the best I've ever had, my partner had the steak and chips which were also delicious.Nice selection of ciders too.

My wife and I have just spent three nights at the Nog Inn whilst visiting the area for a family reunion and were impressed by all aspects of our stay. The room was well equipped, fully comparable with a large modern hotel, and was scrupulously clean. Food, three breakfasts and one evening meal were excellent. All this is achieved without losing the best aspects of a friendly pub. The owners and staff work hard to achieve impressive results Thanks Simon Neary

A lovely little pub in walking distance of Rocky's Retreat where we stayed for the weekend. The food was really nice & the staff were lovely. Thanks

I would love to have tried it. Couldn't get past the young gatekeeper who needed some training in communication, problem solving and customer service. Attempts at booking resulted in inexperienced staff making no attempt to be proactive, instead offering short staffing excuses and zero apologies. If you get in you might be fine, but sometimes this kind of cliched rural pub careless (as I experienced) is just tedious.

The staff were friendly, although the waitress did apologise for taking so long to come back to take our order as she forgot about us! (She had asked what we wanted to drink as we sat down but we'd not seen the menu and wanted to order drinks that would go with our food). I ordered a pint of prawns and salad as my main, but when it came It Was Not a pint of prawns, but 8 in a pint glass with a bit of rocket in the bottom. For £15.50. Yes they were king prawns, but a pint of prawns I expect to be just that, a pint! Plus they still had the poo tube in because they were big and not cleaned. My friend enjoined his burger but mine (literally) left a bad taste in my mouth.
