The Nog Inn
10 South St, WincantonWe chose to go to The Nog Inn because of the previous reviews. We weren't disappointed. The 4 of us all had such good meals and the staff were fun, attentive and very efficient. The stalls were week cooked and the Pork Belly was the envy of the table. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and we would definitely recommend going here for reasonably priced and excellently cooked food. Thankyou

Hunters Lodge Inn
Leigh Common, WincantonLoved it here. Rooms were good and comfortable and food was really good with very friendly staff to look after us. Only gripe was the wi-fi as it was practically non-existent but this is obviously due to the location of the hotel. Other than that our stay was very enjoyable.Rooms: Very comfortable and spacious and very cosily warm.Food & drinks: Food was very good and tasty and a very good selection of drinks. Try the Bohemia lager or the Haze cider.

Hooga Coffee
23 High St, Wincanton10/10 brunch - Hooga Coffee is a definite must visit if you’re in the area. The menu has a good variety for all, and as someone who can’t eat egg, the staff accommodated me straight away with a smile and said that they could bring down the chef to have a chat through the menu with me. I went for the Spicy Bagel, and substituted the egg for Mushroom. The flavour combination was out of this world, the avocado was seasoned perfectly and the bacon was topped with a flavoursome chilli relish which matched the saltiness perfectly. The staff were super friendly, and a big thank you to the chef for making such an effort to accomodate me. If I lived closer I’d make it a regular spot!

The Old Inn
Holton St, Holton, WincantonUnfortunately I do not understand the reviews. Terrible service and disappointing food. None of the roast dinner matched temperatures from burning hot potato to freezing cold Yorkshire pudding. It was extremely overpriced for what you get and it took as long as making a roast dinner from scratch at home to finally arrive to the table. The service was poor, no one offered to get more drinks or refill the jug of water. Very overrated pub/restaurant and sadly wouldn't ever choose to return.

Morrisons
Southgate Rd, WincantonOf the various Morrisons stores I have visited over the years this is one of the best. Well stocked in every aisle, and with a great selection of quality meat and fish counters (in a past life I ran counters in various stores). The staff always seem happy and helpful. The only let down is the low number of disabled parking bays available and they are not well sign posted, we always end up in the wrong place. And a few times the garage has been closed when starting a longer journey.

Morrisons Cafe
Southgate Rd, WincantonWe use Wincanton Morrisons as our breakfast stop when travelling North and/or East and thus far they have never let us down. The food is hot, freshly prepared and plentiful and ridiculously inexpensive, we've paid a lot more for much less, hence why we use it quite regularly (often when we're not actually travelling any distance). It's just so good. It should be said that we've only sampled the breakfasts here but they do hot food through til lunchtime too!!
