Underpaying nice people by 70 pounds. Nasty, very nasty

Great visit to this excellent B&B. Located in a lovely quiet village. Our hosts were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special. Lovely clean room in a beautiful old building perfect for a relaxing weekend. We would definitely visit again and recommend it to

We had a wonderful stay. Exactly what we wanted, friendly, welcoming and quiet. We enjoyed the garden and surroundings. A welcome relaxed 2 night stay.

It’s a little out of the way but a gorgeous B&B with extremely helpful hosts. The room was extremely clean and well presented. The bed was terrific - comfortable & I slept without any disturbances at all. I would have no hesitation staying there again.

One night stay to break up long journey to Cornwall. Beautiful location. Friendly staff, lovely food and nicely set up clean and comfortable rooms.Rooms: Nicely decorated comfortable rooms with good selection of everything you’d expect from a quality B+B.Nearby activities: Short walk from B+B to Tintinhull gardens run by National Trust. 5 min drive from A303 through picturesque village. Such lovely place to stop.Food & drinks: Selection of evening meals are available with prior booking. Some food can be prepared without booking but conditions apply so recommend checking with owner.

Be very careful how you book this hotel I booked through Google Hotel Ads and ended up paying £80 more than my friend who booked directly with the hotel. Unbelievable rip off!!!

Just returned from a weekend away spending two nights at the Crown and Victoria Inn with my wife and friends. I must say that from arrival to departure the hospitality we received was second to none. A warm welcome from the owner Surinder ensured we immediately felt at home. Our bedroom was modern and tastefully decorated and I must say the bed was so comfortable I didn't really want to get up in the morning. A drink in the spacious modern lounge with roaring log fire prior to our evening meal was relaxing. Surinder had emailed the menu prior to arrival so we didn't need to deliberate too long before making a choice. The chef was Surinder's daughter Safia and son Arun served at the table. Great quality food and I must say my choice of Tamarind chicken was so tasty and delicious as was my wife's fish and chips. Breakfast was continental and plentiful, fruit, croissants, cereal etc. We can thoroughly recommend, a great place to stay. We will return.

Its been a while that we have been to the Crown & Victoria and were very impressed with the the warm welcome we were given. we popped in for lunch and had a feshly prepared and cooked Feta and Tomato Tart as a starter, which was light delicious and flavoursome. This was followed by a powmans lunch. Love;y ham, cheese fresh baked bread and accompanied by chutney and a chilli condiment which had a certain kick that complimented the plowmans. Beware though it does have a lovely kick to it. Will certainly visit again. Thank you for the lovely service and hospitality.

Sadly no atmosphere at all. Lunch on a Friday was sandwiches or baguettes. Told had no staff. This used to be a lovely buzzing pub with great food. Owners seem far more interested in making it an events venue. Could have forgiven all that if the price had been reasonable! Over £25 for a beer, soda and two tuna mayo baguettes which took 15 minutes to prepare. We were the only ones in the pub! Definitely won’t be going there again. Shame as the pub is a lovely old building with much potential.UPDATE ON HIS RESPONSE TRIP ADVISERFollowing on from my experience I posted a similar review on tripAdvisor. The response must be a set text that they use for people who leave honest/poor opinions. The owner goes on and on about the pub trade dying, massive utility bills, and “saving” the pub. He clearly hates what he’s doing, bitterly regrets buying the pub and then takes his frustrations out on those customers who dare complain! My suggestion is get out of a trade you have absolutely no understanding of! I stand by what I said as others have done Zero atmosphere and expensive sandwiches. Read his website he Moans on that as well!!

Went for a weekend stay which included the pop up restaurant Saturday night. My wife had arranged the trip with the hosts who greeted us like long lost family. What lovely talented people! They went above and beyond to give us an excellent stay. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was served in front of a roaring log fire. The meal on the Saturday night was great fun with a fantastic atmosphere. All the people on our table thoroughly enjoyed the authentic Punjabi food and the evening and said they’d be coming back for various other events coming up. All in all a great experience that we’d highly recommend and will be coming back for more of. Mister the dog is super friendly too.

We stayed at the Crown and Victoria bed and breakfast last weekend. Surinder was so helpful with booking and whilst we was there. The room was lovely. Very clean, spacious and great value for the money. The coffee machine in the room was lovely.Breakfast in the morning was very nice and we loved meeting their dog, Mister. Very cute and friendly.Would definitely recommend and we will be booking when visiting family again.

Went there for “lunch”. Lunch consists of several sandwiches/baguettes. That’s it! That wouldn’t be so bad but 2 tuna mayo baguettes a few crisps and a beer and soda over £25! This used to be a great pub with great food, but obviously whoever has taken it over has more interest in making it an events venue. This being the case and that they can’t find any staff should be made clear if bothering to open for lunch. Couple in front of us declined to stay - I wish we’d done the same. There is no atmosphere at all. Shame as it’s a beautiful old pub we definitely won’t be going again

Had a lovely afternoon here, staff were really attentive and accommodated all our needs. Sat next to a roaring fire and food was 5* would highly recommend the ploughman’s and the wonderful homemade soup. Would definitely visit again

A shame only sandwiches on offer as would have enjoyed a roast dinner but that didn’t dampen the effects of the two pints of Otter.Landlord was of good spirit and made us feel welcome.Shall be returning
