Great place and I loved the historical information dotted around. We sat next to the Woodburner and was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. We had fish and chips and beef stew, both meals were excellent.

Gluten free Sunday lunch!!! Wuhooo!! Very nice lunch with friends. I had the beef, chicken and lamb also available. My friends had the beef & lamb roast, comes on a sharing platter. Well seasoned veg, tasty beef, potatoes and gravy. Would definitely return to have this again.Dietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy free not a problem

Paul the manager is a really nice chap. The pub is lovely. Lots of history about the castle. Food is good. Smaller menu but sensible and tastes lovely. Will go visit this pub again.

We had a very enjoyable evening at The Camelot, 2 pensioner couples. We had a very warm and friendly welcome and seated quickly. We were not rushed to order which was nice as we hadn't seen our friends for 3 years. The service was excellent as was the food, all the meals were well prepared and presented. It was a limited but very nice menu. The only gripe is that it was not terribly warm in the room. Thank you. Recommended.

Exceptional food at fair prices. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff, although seemingly a little understaffed. Obviously working really hard to give outstanding service. Lovely garden and dog friendly inside and out. Would definitely visit again for the tapas board and chips alone.

Stopped for lunch during our countryside hike and enjoyed a fantastic lunch! It was truly one of our best meals during our 7 day visit in the area. Lunch boards were amazing, fish and chips delicious, and 5 bean chili a group favorite. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling through the area!

Fantastic food. One of the most delightful pubs we visited on our week long hike through Wessex area. I ordered a vegetarian platter and it was presented so well! All of us liked our food. The proprietor was delightful!

Passing through the area, we stopped for a late lunch. The home-cooked food was great & really hard to find fault. Had a lovely steak that was cooked well with homemade chips, my wife had the burger. Both meals were spot on. Will be back sometime soon.

Fabulous little find, stumbled by on a very busy Friday night while on my travels. Bustling to the seams with locals after a hot July's day, it's a traditional village pub with a great atmosphere. Lovely welcoming staff and the best fish and chips I've had in a long time, and despite being told I might have to wait due to how busy they were, it arrived in no time. Dog friendly, with lovely local walks and Cadbury castle on its doorstep.
The main meals were delicious some bigger portions then others so abit inconsistent. When it came to dessert we waited almost an hour to be greeted with a 'sharing board' this consisted of tiny nibbles of food and after seeing photos on here we can say we were ripped off paying £12 for it I've uploaded our photo and someone else's to compare

This is a fantastic find. Some of the best kept real ale in Somerset. Great food, fascinating historical displays. Cosy and welcoming. Everything that is fantastic about the English pub. Love this place.

Came back to this area especially to try out the pub and wasn’t disappointed. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and couldn’t do enough to help you out. Dog friendly which was a bonus. The pub is well supported by its locals too. The Charcuterie platter was amazing!!! Would definitely recommend a visit.

In search of a meal in the vicinity after arriving for a 4 day family teip, we found this on google and with good reviews, called and luckily they had a table for 8 of us last minute Friendly welcome and told to sit wherever we wanted. Nice big table and loads of board games available to keep thenkids entertained as well as Prince Fluffy Balls the rescued pub cat. So fruendly and cuddly, on your lap and fell asleep. He is also a cheeky chappy and attempts to help himself to food from your plate. Stadf were very attentive tho and quickly removed him if he was being naughty so we could eat but whilst waiting we enjoyed his antics and cuddles. He even had a nap together with my mum at the table. Food was delicious, we had the Macaroni cheese, a vegan tapas board, a fish tapas board and a quesadilla. All were big enough and tasty. Desserts were varied and also tasty. All in all a very pleasant fun evening out with the family befire it was back to the glamping site.
