My wife and I went for a delicious lunch and both the service and food were amazing! We’ll definitely be back, thank you!

We chose to stay on the campsite behind the pub due to its location and the ease of getting to Yeovil Hospital for an appointment. After waiting for a bus that didn't arrive Richard very kindly offered to drop us at the hospital. We cannot begin to say how grateful we were for this. In the evening we popped into the pub for something to eat and drink and everything was lovely (including all the gorgeous dogs). It is a lovely pub with amazing hospitality and food. We will return, thank you Rose & Richard.Food & drinks: Can thoroughly recommend the Chicken Burger with the gorgeous ginger sauce!

Popped in for an evening drink. Clearly popular with locals. Nice and cosy.

Nestled in a beautiful village, the pub has a lovely atmosphere. My ratings for the rooms is for our 1 night stay on the pub's campsite and its facilities - great! Friendly staff, and great service ??

We stayed on the adjoining Campsite and had a couple of excellent nights inside the Masons Arms. The staff were highly helpful and accommodating. Both the food and drinks menus were outstanding. We have already been back for a lunch after this trip and the service is still exceptional. It is a dog friendly pub which may put some people off but all the animals we encountered were on leads and very well behaved, i wont see this as a reason not to try the fantastic village pub.I would highly recommend a visit. A+

Lovely, quaint pub. Very clean and staff were kind and helpful. Large free car park. However, it is quite snug so not the best place to bring a large group of people. We had a group of 10+ and we were sat on two separate tables as they did not have space for a long table. We were not impressed by the food either. Very hit and miss. Their dessert menu also has an apple and elderflower cake, but this is actually a flapjack - just as a heads up as myself and another in my party were disappointed by the false advertising.

Sunday lunch was not good. Had to send the first meals back as they were cold. Quite a long wait for replacements and they were overcooked. Veggies definitely tasted as though they'd been pre-cooked and re-heated, the roast potatoes were enormous and very difficult to cut as the outsides were rock hard, again tasted re-heated. Didn't stay for dessert. Heard other diners passing similar comments. Such a shame, the staff were lovely

We stayed on the campsite and were really looking forward to have dinner at the pub. Unfortunately, the food was a real let down. I had the pan-fried fish and although it wasn’t cheap, the portion was tiny, the fish mushy, the chips soggy and there was cucumber peel in my green salad. It was so bad, I couldn’t bring myself to actually eat it. Not at all happy! ☹️

We planned a visit to the National Trust Montacute House and discovered this pub with good TA reviews close by. A great find, lovely welcome and an excellent lunch. We shared 3 starters and one main course and with 2 drinks and a coffee the bill came to £41 plus service.

Fab Sunday roast, clean, nothing was too much trouble. Staff made the meal enjoyable and really welcomed our two dogs. We’ll be back.
