We planned a visit to the National Trust Montacute House and discovered this pub with good TA reviews close by. A great find, lovely welcome and an excellent lunch. We shared 3 starters and one main course and with 2 drinks and a coffee the bill came to £41 plus service.

We stayed 3 nights on the campsite just behind the pub. Small but nicely laid out with very good facilities, very clean and well looked after.The pub is a real bonus being on your doorstep! Great food and good choice. Staff very welcoming and helpful.I would thoroughly recommend this place. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay such a pleasant one!I forgot to mention, this pub is very dog friendly! ?

We stayed last night (couple with dog) and enjoyed a meal there with family that live locally. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable, and really dog friendly, they were happy to provide dog beds, towels, bowls etc , though we did bring our own. There was also info on local vets , walks etc. Also a small dog walking area in the grounds useful for just before bed! The evening meal was really nice and everyone enjoyed their choices.
