Friendly and welcoming. Generous and tasty pub grub! Well worth a visit. FYI - Businesses are still open in West Coker despite road blocks. Explain your visit and they'll let you through during the temporary roadworks.

Waited at the bar to be served and got pretty much ignored by the staff. When someone finally got behind the bar we skipped to serve a local who was thereafter us. So we just walked out very unimpressed

Came to The George recently for afternoon tea. Wow! What a fantastic selection of food- lots of choice. Fantastic value for money. Very well catered to everyone’s needs. Staff were very accommodating and very friendly. The food tasted amazing, very satisfying and very filling- we had to take some home we had so much. Would definitely recommend.

Wow! Lovely food, lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We had the steak and sundae for £24 pp, well worth the money, everything was perfect.

I cannot rate the Royal George highly enough. A very friendly greeting welcomed us, it was warm and cosy and we were shown to a delightful round table with comfortable chairs and enough room between tables to feel like it was just us. There were some quirky lamps and objects which added to the charm of the place. The menu was concise but gave enough food for thought, then there was the specials menu, oh my! I have dietary requirements and an order from the specials menu was amended to suit my needs and I had the first restaurant quality meal I have eaten in many years. It was delicious, looked amazing and would not have been out of place in a magazine photo. All the meals on our table looked amazing; there was not a scrap of food left at the end and we were so full we could not even look at the desert menu. We will be going back!

Partner and I called at short notice for lunch, amazing food - the chicken platter so unique and tasty as was the Korean chicken burger. Landlord friendly too so will definitely go back!

Pies and puddings! Great concept!Great staff that managed our order 12 people) easily. Old-world pub with fireplace and low ceilings.

I went to the Christmas dinner and bingo, I have to say that I was not impressed, the tables were decorated with a plastic cloth, no napkins, we had to ask, the turkey was cold. Very small portion size. Mince pies were put on the table, but we couldn’t buy a coffee as they had no milk or cream. I dont think I’ll be going back.

Great Food. Expensive Drinks. Landlord sucks. Bar staff are nice. They make the best cakes!Lost 2 stars for Landlord and prices.

Popped in for a quick lunch. BLT sandwich on commercial white sliced bread with minimum side salad. An average large Rosee wine at £11.50 a glass! Stressed staff. Won't be returning.

Went this eveningHad the pork belly and my mother had the chicken and ham pie.Pork Belly was absolutely fantastic probably the best I've ever had and the Amstel was good to.My mother loved the food also and couldn't fault the pie. Her partner had the ham egg and chips and was also very impressed.Staff were amazing as usual and the atmosphere was also the perfect balance.Highly recommend coming here
