“We've just returned from the Thornhurst Manor 'Pumpkin Patch' event. Our 4 year old absolutely loved picking his pumpkin, having a go on the teacups and getting himself a treat from one of the Vans.
All in all we had a good hour at the pumpkin event but found it extremely overpriced and not much to do other than pick your pumpkins. The teacups were £3 a ride, the bouncy castle was £3. Helium character balloon were £7 a go! There was catering vans which I didn't bother looking at prices for but I did see a fish and chips van.
As this is the first time Thornhurst have done it this year, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. If it's done again next year there needs to be way more activities for older children.
I spoke to a lady who was running the entry, she said on the first day. They set up carving areas on the picnic tables, where people could carved their pumpkins. They provided the relevant tools to do this with. But when it came to collecting them back in, to wash at the end of the day. Nearly all the sets that were bought were gone! People had taken them home.
I'd suggest if you want to carve your pumpkins at the event. Take your own carving sets to do the carving.
Customer service was 10/10 the staff were friendly, helpful and really approachable.”
