Lovely pub very cosy. Food wasn't great unfortunately. We had a bigger group and by time the food came out some had finished eating while others were just getting their food. Some food missing too.Only 2 staff on front and one didn't look like she had been working long. The floor was a death trap as was very slippy. Overall won't be returning which is a shame.

Very hit and miss this place. Had the "Fish & Chips" Fish was massively overcooked so ended up leaving 2/3 of it. Told the chap, just said he'd tell the chef, no apology, nothing, so will probably not ho here again. Also run out of basic items frequently.

1st time for us tonight. Lovely warm welcome from Chloe who seemed to run the place single handed tonight. The pub was half full and everyone was eating. Chloe suggested we get a table and she would be straight over. She took our drinks order and brought the menus. I chose sticky belly pork bites and my husband chose tempura prawns with sweet chilli sauce. We both got 8 pieces each - a huge starter! Both were delicious. The belly pork was crunchy, moist, succulent and crispy, all in one mouthful! I had the steak and ale pie with the most gorgeous thick cut handmade chips. Husband had Chimichurra steak, which was cooked rare 2 eggs and chips. Again the fat was rendered beautifully and the steak was very tasty. Chloe was friendly and checked on us to see when we needed more drinks as we were out of sight in the conservatory. She was attentive and managed to keep everyone happy. It is one of the best 2 courses I have had. £68 for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 pints of Inches and 2 pints of Carling. Excellent value and highly recommended. Can't wait to visit again. Just outside Bawtry in Scrooby. The Pilgrim Fathers.

The "pub grub" food is well cooked and beautifully presented and delicious and great choices at a reasonable price. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. We took two dogs in, and there's a special area ( a small snug) you can sit. Or in the summer there's a large comfortable beer garden. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it and we'll be returning there soon.
